Don't know if there's a tread about this allready, used searched, but couldn't find annything.

Who is Gordon Freeman? (Don't know if this is known)
We're all asking about G-Man, what his role in the game is etc. but what do we know about ourself (as Freeman) besides he's a scientist and screwing up the BMRF?
I would really like to know more about his background, like where he's born, why he was (?) a scientist and so on....

Not much is known about Mr. Freeman. However, he went to the University of Innsbruck, the Institute for Experimental Physics. He earned the job at Black Mesa through one of his professors Dr. Kleiner, who makes an appearance in Half-Life 2. Thatès all I know. Oh, and heès an assitant in the Anoumlous Materials area.

He wears glases and he's "the silent but strong" kind of guy.

I would guess that he has a crush on Alyx (i liked the part in the e3-04 with Alyx, Gordon and Alyxs Father (eli))
I wonder if Alyx and Gordon will fall in love (and maybe she gets killed and Gordon goes for revenge (like Max Payne))

Why doesn't he have any problems killing people? Has he some military background? (it's not Gordon that kills, it's the player but still!)

Sadly enough Gordon will problably never speak (thankfully....) so we will never know who he is....
UNLESS: Someone talks to Gordon about his life! (Eli meybe?)

The HL manual says Gordon had never fired a weapon outside of an experiment. So I guess that rules out any military training.

You are male (not just a women dressed up as a man)
You are 27
You have a P.h.d,MIT in theoretical physics
You have been sponsored (to come to black mesa) by a classified character (probably G-man)

So you will be 31 in Hl2 and have the same credentials,

Are you sure it was the G-Man? Because in the manual it says Dr. Kleiner got you in.

Gordon was also the employee of the month in black mesa (there's a pic on a wall with employee of the month and his face on it). He is definitely as sleeping mind says, "a silent but strong guy"
I think he was sponsored by Gman, if it was Dr.kleiner why would it be classified?

Maybe Dr.Kleiner was told to look for promising ppl (like gordon) and then the ppl he picked would be sponsored by Gman, the way G-man looks at you (and speaks to you) makes you think that you owe him something, or that he would like to think that you owe him something.

But the whole thing is, who is Gordon Freeman NOW? He must have done some things while he escaped BMRF. Like for instance, heard about the combine? But I doubt it, cause he wakes up in the vid. so i guess nothing happened. Heh...

Maybe Gman sort of knocked him out, I think Gman was behind the whole black mesa thing, so he would probably be able to control the power suits, he would knock you out and put you into an artificial (HEV) coma, Dr Kliener would have probably kept you (in his appartment/house) until you woke up. (after 5 years sleep), it s a bit of a wild theory but it does explain a few things....
