Hmmm...I doubt a sword made out of cardboard would be sturdy enough to retain its shape...maybe cut out of a thick enough sheet of plastic.

The sword would also look pretty crummy made of cardboard. You'd need plastic.

i saw a really great energy sword made using plexi glass and lumoniscent (sp?) wire. It looked great but didnt flicker or anything. I researched static lightning glass ( think star trek and Borg) but it cost way too much. That would be the only way i would make one.

Very Nice mate. Whats your next project besides the sword idea?

My girlfriend wants a samus costume and while I've offered to make it, she always decides that it would be too much work on me. I would love to make it; i even thought of a way to change the canon to missle mode. We'll see, i've finished my halloween costume, so working on hers wouldn't be problem. If I make it, you guys will see it first.

My God that would make for hot role play.

*ehem*

I believe it would be in your best interest to turn her into Samus Aran, Mr Chief.

Alright, I'm done with the laser. So here are the pictures:

So here it is all black and beautiful. This will be the base coat.

Now here is the basic color scheme. Next will be too add the details.

So here's the finished product. There were certain details that I didn't want to actually cut out of the cardboard, so I just painted it in. If I've learned anything from doing this stuff, the fewer holes in the cardboard the better. The ring in the back was easier to make with paint.

So that's it; thanks for the comments gang.

EDIT: How do I change the topic title so that it says "All DONE" or something like that?

Wow, that's incredible. Did you do Art or anything like that in school/college? The scratches where the paint's come off look really good.
I promise that after this post, I'll go back to working on Black Mesa.
