ATI Benchmarks

I have heard from many people that VALVE disowned nVidia for cheating and making their benchmarks much higher then they really were. Of course nVidia got a bad rating with HL2, atleast with the FX 5*** series. I have also heard that ATI has cheated once before. Do u think these benchmarks are correct? I mean my Geforce fx 5700 ultra is compared to a ATI Radeon 9600 XT. They are both the same and comparison. Why is it that the 5700 probably wouldnt even get 20 fps on HL2 but the Radeon 9600 XT will get over 45 or 50? Do u think ATI is boostin their benchmarks alittle too high?

its bcuz nvidia=******* for dx9 buddy ati is just purely better and yes where are these benchmarks? and when did u hear ati was cheating? i hate all these nvidia fans saying ati was cheating for hl2! gabe newell already stated that there are no optimizations for hl2 and ati! nvidia even wins in doom 3 but ati still get 60+ fps while geforce will be getting about 70+ fps just a matter of time before we see any x800/6800 U benchmarks

I don't believe ATI was cheating, I think valve or someone who was doing the benchmarks took off 10-20 fps off of the Nvidia cards to make em look bad. There is no possibility that similar ranked cards which bench similar fps on games suddenly have 1 very clear winner looking as if it was nex generation of cards while the other looked a generation behind because the difference in the fps was so astounding.

Yeah there is. The Radeon cards simply handle Direct3D better than nVidia cards. Half-Life 2 only uses Direct3D. Making it the obvious choice video card for Half-Life 2.
nVidia cards are more suited for DirectX9.

That is becayse they use the cheap OEM versions from nVidia thats why they suck at the benchmarks, if they test it from another manufactuer it would get higher benchmarks, trust me. The Ledtek 6800 Ultra already owned the X800 XT P.E in Half Life 2

Could you show me some links?! Please? I've seen many benchmarks other then Toms Hardware and the x800 XT beats the 6800 in all of them.
I kinda forgot the site (it might be tomshardware, im not sure) the OEM 6800 from nvidia lost to it obvoiusly, but the Ledtek GeForce 6800 Ultra beat the X800 XT P.E.
