Quick question about the heapsize command

Ok, so i know you click hl2 properties and then launch options. does the command need to have the - in front of it and is there supposed to be a space between the numbers? I typed it in like this -heapsize 250000 When i check my task manager, it says hl is only using 108,000kb or so which is why i think I'm getting the memory error. Did I do the command wrong or is my computer just not taking it?

You gotta help. I have the game sitting here and can't play cuz i keep getting memory error crash :wack The steam patch did nothing, nor did re-d/l all files and the steam program. i can play css just fine on low/medium setting, but get the same error when i click advn. vid options...

i typed -heapsize 518144

i have 1gb ram

Great improvement

Edit: how much ram do you have you should use only half the amount of RAM for heapsize and yes you have to type the -
