the movie with the wood and ragdoll was submitted in 2003. Check the www.stalker-game.com website for more up to date videos. I'm watching one about AI and it's not that impressive, but it's very competant. I don't know... should I buy BF2 of Stalker? Choices, choices, choices.

EDIT: the AI ducks, uses cover and works in a team... just like FarCry and HL2, but, the random squad patrols should make the game better, especially if you can avoid the patrols altogether if you wish.

Stalker has gone from one of my most anticipated games to a game that I might buy. Over the past year sence they anounced Co-Op will not be in the game anymore and all the rumors of bad gameplay it slipped down a bit on my game want scale. The main thing I want from it is the day/night cycles aswell as real time weather with lightning storms. /me drools

There was recently a review put out by a french site that had a recent hands on with the game. As well as giving new screens, after reading this it slipped down some more notches in my want scale.

Some of that page translates out like this.
"Stalker hasn't advanced much since our last visit 9 months ago, it's ridden of bugs, gameplay is still undecided, there's no way it will be out as a good game in only 5 months. It has nice gfx (excepted for people's faces) and excellent level design, though."

Defenetly not looking good for what was one of my most anticipated games ever. = ( Seems they took to much time making it look polished and forgot that they had to actually make the gameplay fun.

We will be lucky to see this game in Fall of 2005.

i think hl2 will be better because of what its engine alone will spawn....but on top of that free games (mods) in the future....what will stalker get for mods? a reskin of the character?

i'll get it just because ive been waiting since last year. i wasted money on far cry doom 3 and bf vietnam so one more game if it sucks aint gonna break me.

Anyways, STALKER looks nice (but all character models are ownd by HL2) and the gameplay might be fun, we really can't tell yet, because we haven't...played...the....game!

EDIT: Wow, some of the stuff in Stalker is cool. Check out the enemies, and their physcic abilities, like invisibility and throwing objects at you. Stalker looks like a fun game to kill mutants in, but I wonder if there's something in it to keep me wanting to go onwards, after all, I could just sit in the city and do nothing...
One thing that would be great, does the character have to eat? All the animals seem to, so it makes sense the stalker should have to as well...

The game should be out on Feb 7th, 2005. That gives them time to perfect things. Those pics and movies that everyone is comparing HL2 to is the dumbest thing in the world. Most of those vids and pics are from the early builds of the game. No one knows what it will look like when its polished up for retail. So STFU about HL2 > S.T.A.L.K.E.R...No one knows how they will compare.
