So why did they stop PS2 backwards compatibility in the newer PS3 models? I wanna get a PS3, but it'd be nice to finally put the PS2 away..

Yeah, I was leaning towards buying the 160GB thinking it had backwards compatibility but went with the 80GB when I realized it doesn't.

Edit: I never got to play God of War II and didn't get to finish MGS3 (got to right before the battle with The Sorrow). I was looking forward to playing/finishing those.

Aw man even though the controls are downright frustrating sometimes (trying to turn quickly when someone ran past you... not so much) KZ2 multiplayer rocks. At least so far it does anyway. I'm having a blast!

Metal Gear Solid 4 Trophy patch still up in the air

Quote

Konami hasn’t committed to adding support quite yet, and a Sony representative recently held that non-committal line in response to a fan inquiry on the PlayStation blog. “On the subject of MGS4/MGO trophies and Konami ID - we hear you,” he wrote. “We have been circulating these issues internally, and we will report back as soon as we are able.”

You can throw blood packs:

I shouldn't really have to explain this one, but since you probably play Halo 3 and are therefore a moron, I suppose I'll lower myself to speaking like a grade school teacher. In Killzone 2's multiplayer, there's a class system, and you can choose to be a Medic. If you level up the Medic enough, you gain the ability to throw blood packs on the floor and walk over them to quickly regain health. This is fantastic.

as a gamer i want my games to be as good as possible and graphics are as important as gameplay in the terms of the evolution of games and we all want them to get better and better..

Then what makes the run-and-gun shooting gameplay of Killzone 2 so special? What makes the universally panned archaic controls worthwhile?

People like to play the graphics + gameplay card so often they never stop to think that some people just find the gameplay itself boring.

hey your wrong again but don't worry uncle cow is here to educate you

i guess you have not played Killzone 2 or you played it on easy because taking cover is very important if you play on higher difficulties
so no Killzone 2 is not a Run-and-Gun shooter because when you do that you will die because you have more less the same amount of life that the enemies have and they outnumber you so running in a room and killing one enemy before the other two notice you and kill you won't get you anywhere

some people my find the game boring - many find the game to be fun because it is
all the people who think it's boring hyped the game like the second coming of christ or the revolution of first person shooters but that is not what Killzone is - it's a very good and solid shooter with amazing graphics - nothing more and nothing less

Even though Cow is a biased fanboy he is right about KZ2 being a solid shooter with amazing graphics. The controls take some getting used to (even slower than Halo 3's) but once you nail it, the controls I mean, you'll be killin' Higs effortlessly.

Funny thing is, Guerilla responded to the control complaints and is now trying to figure out how to make em' more responsive. Even though that goes into their previous statements saying that they're meant to be the way the are right now for 'realistic' reasons.
