that's a hilarious commercial, too bad that taurus is based in brazil, which makes perfect sense why the beretta's in Max Payne 3 are the taurus versions and not the italian versions. They still look and work the exact same though.

Anyways, I just purchased a Mosin-Nagant for $120. Cabela's just received another huge shipment in so I got to pick the best one out of looks, matching serial numbers, and how well the bolt works. Gonna clean it tonight.

Have you fired one of those things before? A couple buddies of mine bought some and we brought them to the range. Those things KICK. One of them had a steel butt plate. Eff that noise. I'm never firing that one again. The rubber butt plate: maybe.

Aye, I fired one when me and a bunch of the guys from work went to the shooting range, one of my buddies neighbors let him borrow it. I fell in love with it, but yea, it comes with a steel butt plate, I'm gonna put a rubber one on though.

EDIT . . . Here's the bullet for the mosin (7.56x54R) on my faithful max payne mousepad and here's the round in comparison to a 9mm (only other gun I own is a pistol).

I'm in the process of cleaning it right now, whoever threw it in storage put this awful grease all over it so it wouldn't rust. It's a pain but I'm learning how to take it apart which makes for faster cleaning times in the future.

My friend with the steel butt plate one said it took him almost 3 1/2 hours to get all the grease crap off.

Most ex-Warsaw Pact weapons are slathered in cosmoline grease from storage. If any of it is gummed up hit it with WD-40 or PB Blaster and let it sit for a minute, then you should be able to wipe it right off. I cleaned a Yugo SKS that had so much of that shit on it that it was even inside the gas system.

That's a nice mosin you got there.

The closest I can get to shooting one is by watching Hickok45, who is great.

Hahaha, I like how when he got it they were almost $1,000 and difficult to find. Now Cabela's gets them in bulk and sells them for 1/10th of that.
