Oh I got it! Check this out... I just got the craziest idea!

You know in Opposing Force when you fight against the Species 'X' (the non-xen aliens). The Shocktroopers, the aliens that have one eye and use the smaller aliens as weapons... the ones that fight not only the humans but also the Xen aliens...

Those guys showed up on earth to stop the Xen aliens (who were being controlled by the combine) from taking over the world. So Species 'X' was attempting to stop the Combine, and the Gman is one of them! But in human form! OOOOooOooOooooo So he works for the Species X aliens who are fighting against the Combine, and that's why they decided to hire Freeman, so they could battle the Combine.

As for the final boss... well this has nothing to do with anything... and I don't know.

It's 'Race X', actually.

They got quite a thorough doing over here.

Your all wrong I know who the final boss it

yet again it looks like I will have to explain the Half-Life story.
I got a hold of the script for Half-life 3 and here is how the story ends and explanes who the final boss is:

Spoilers ho!

as you all know at the end of Half-Life 2 The Gman stops time and prevents Alyx and Gordon getting toasty in the explosion in the citadel.

In Half-Life 3 the story continues from where Half-Life 2 finishes (Aftermath is a totally different expansion which gives all characters top hats and adds three new colours of wooden crates and two different barrel types)

Posted Image

Since The Gman saves Gordon, The Gman takes Alyx for his own and since the Gman has magical powers Alyx doesnt mind.

But since Gordon cant speak he couldnt really refuse anyway.
and he didnt mind to much since he was now a hero!

Posted Image

Everyone now loved Gordon and a party was held to celebrate the death of Breen and the whole of the combine army suddenly dissapearing with no good explanation to say why.

The party was great and everyone was happy.

Posted Image

They were a little dissapointed with Gordons speech but they let him off because he did get rid of breen and co.

But then things went bad for everyone.

Posted Image

The Gman got depressed seeing everyone adore Gordon, and Alyx commited suicide after she realised she had married the Gman.

The Gman fell with the bad crowd of heavy smokers and drinkers.

Posted Image

He died later that year after taking an overdose of cough medicine.

Since Breen was now dead Gordon took his office and turned what was left of the citadel into a shopping centre.

Posted Image

But then someone knocked on Freemans door and it turned out that that someone was

Dr Breen!

Posted Image

He wasnt looking as well as he was before the citadel exploded in his face but he was still out to get his revenge.

so he did, he picked up a can of Dr Breens private reserve®

Posted Image

and threw it at Gordon, he was so confused he fell off his chair and cracked his head open.

Posted Image

Breen was the final boss who took down Dr Freeman :(

THE END

City 17, if your not careful, you are going to end up some kind of introverted forum mute, who is only able communicate in a series of humorous Garry's Mod images.

Yeah! I thought the headcrab performed a resurrection spell on Breen, and in return, Breen gave Lamarr a 20-ton robot battle suit!

I should really stop making them, but I had nothing better to do so it wasted some time!

HL2 was too easy. Now Gordon needs a good opponent that's nearly impossible to win.

I'd say: Global Warming. Muahahahaaaa... :devil

-> Gordon goes to build wind turbines and solar panels. :zombieattack

I say that VALVe, with their tendancy to try to brave untrodden ground, should try to create an ending suitably apt for the amount of character interaction and development they pioneered with HL1 and developed in HL2. The ending of HL3 should be a tragic one, that offers the player the opportunity to feel the cathartic emotion that could be possible with immersive and convincing NPC interactions.

I hope VALVe know their Aristotle.
