Well i'm too impatient to wait for someone to move my old topic here now that there is a proper section for it (thanks for that by the way mr. bond :): ). Anyway i'm also too lazy to type so here is a rip from the other thread with some aditions

Well, a new version of SMOD has been released, i'll get a direct link for the people who dont feel like using babelfish.altavista.com , anyway some of the new features are the ability to kicks, which is incredibly fun, possibly better than the shovel, and numerous script files that can screw around with ragdoll physics, difficulty, and gore. Also there is a graphical update in terms of the bullet time which can be activated an deactivated by a script, the command for this is "exec performance_highspec.cfg", this gives ripply effects when grenades explode and bullets whizz by, these effects are
similar to the ones in F.E.A.R. Also you can now save once again, huzzah! Anyway what are you waiting for, GET IT!

edit: I will not post direct links here anymore because on the site they say to not post direct links to the file anywhere else so i will just point you to their main website. (Either that or they meant do not upload it anywhere else but out of respect, I will do this just in case)

http://www.geocities..._down/smod_bak/

It's not hard to find just scroll down untill you see a hyperlink with the text smod36. Once you click and download on that, scroll to smod36a and get that, install smod36 first, then smod36a.
_______________________________________________________________
here's a video, it just shows off the new features for the new version though, and by the way you will definately notice some funky ragdollage in that video, it's done with a script so if you don't like it fear not. Anyway to see all that smod has to offer you should uhhhhh.......... download it.
http://media.putfile.../Smod-Video/640
_______________________________________________________________
note: this video is now obsolete because it was made with a much older version of smod, it still can give you a basic idea of what to expect though

oh yeah i will now make a list of all of the included scripts
only enter the part of the command that comes before the dash (not including the dash) or it will not work
____________________________

exec ragdoll_funny.cfg - insane ragdolls
exec ragdoll_hl2.cfg - default style ragdolls
exec ragdoll_smod.cfg - smod style ragdolls
exec ragdoll_real.cfg - realistic ragdolls
______________________________
Difficulty level modifiers

exec level_easy.cfg - easy mode
exec level_hard.cfg - hard mode
exec level_hl2.cfg hl2 difficulty
exec level_smod.cfg - smod difficulty
_____________________________
Graphical modifiers

exec performance_highperf.cfg - gets rid of special effects for high performance
exec performance_highspec.cfg - adds a bunch of special effects for good looks
exec performance_recomm.cfg - recommended effects
________________________________
Gore Modifiers

exec gore_extreme.cfg - adds gore-o-plenty
exec gore_hl2.cfg - default hl2 gore levels
exec gore_none.cfg - gets rid of all gore
__________________________________

infinityammo 1 - ammo never goes down, no reloading
r_btscreffect 1 - very cool distortion view when in bullettime , see page 11
r_motionblur 1 - motion blur.... duh
r_zoomlenseffect 1 - cool effect for the sniper zoom

pretty long pust huh?

edit: also I did not make this mod, i simply found it and showed it around.
edit: "'sv_cheats 1' enabled through console" or " ' -dev -console' in the startup parameters" must be used or bullettime will be completely screwed up!
edit: there's some more scripts added in the recent versions, i'm to lazy to post them so if somebody else does can a mod edit this post with them?

edit: I made a 6-7 minute video of smod to demonstrate some cool stuff that can be done with it
here's the link: http://rapidshare.de...modage.avi.html
don't bother asking for the map or even mentioning it because you're not getting it, i only used it because it has wide open space.

edit: new link http://files.filefro...;/fileinfo.html
edit: wow this post is starting to get really huge, here is a guide from Pillsy on how to install smod for people who don't know how

A Dummys Guide to Installing SMOD

Step 1 - Download SMOD from HERE and save it to your Desktop.

Step 2 - Install SMOD by extracting the contents of the zip file to the SourceMods folder where Steam is installed.

Step 3 - Restart Steam so SMOD appears in the list.

Step 4 - Load SMOD from your games list in Steam and play like HL2 and enjoy the mass array of weapons.

Edit - Just noticed that blog you posted a few pages back Trooper and its very useful :8

edit: ATTENTION: IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS ABOUT SMOD READ THIS FIRST!

Go here for an smod faq, it is pretty detailed and tells you just about everything about it, it was last updated for v35a

Thanks to Trooper for the link

Videos (decided to put this here because i realized i have a lot of smod videos):
The first video of smod

Here's an explosive new video of smod explosions in action

Here's a new video of smodv36a in action, don't listen to it at max volume :8

Yet another Smod video

edit: v36 released, the link to smod that appears earlier in the post has been updated.
edit: v36a released, look earlier in the post for info about it and look at page 31 of this thread for the latest changelog for 36a
edit:v36b released, see page 36 for a link
edit:v37 has finally been released, check the link below for the release thread and the highlights of the new changelog (wrote it all myself so no broken babelfish english here!)

http://accept.hopto....wtopic.php?t=52

The first attatchment is for the patch from v36b to v37 and the second file is the full version.

Here is a list of the changes:

-Npcs can now use the custom weapons correctly
-There is now a slight blur when using ironsights, to toggle it on type "r_ironsightblur 1", it is also automatically enabled when using the performance_highspec script
-You can now make the physcannon damage npcs with the command phys_npcdamagephysicsscale 1" or "phys_npcdamagephysicsscale 2"
-You can now set the strength of the kick with the command "kick_powerscale X" (x is replaced with a random number you decide to use)
-You can now set the strength of the gravitygrenade with the command "weapon_cfrag_powerscale X" (you know the deal with the X's now right?)
-(not sure about this one, hard to decipher the broken english that remains after babelfish translation) A secondary fire has been added to the strider cannon
-(not sure how to use this command yet) You are able to change the model of an npc with the command "smod_npc_replacemodel <not sure what to put here>"
-You can now turn off the autoswitching to weapons you have jsut picked up with the command "disable_autoswitch 1"
-(not sure what this command does or how to use it but i'll say what i think it does) You can now set the priority of weapons the npcs will pick up with the command "weapon_customweight <don't know what to put here>"
-The "r_increaseparticles" command now has a new setting, "r_increaseparticles 3" command will now add flaming debris to explosions and will chip pieces off of walls when they are shot. Looks pretty cool :)
-You can now set the damage you deal with the svd sniper with the command "sk_plr_dmg_svd_scale X" and you can change how much damage npcs deal with the weapon with the command "sk_npc_dmg_svd_scale X"
-The command "gore_raggib_unbreakable 1" makes it so gibs will not break when damaged
-You can now change the speed of the svd sniper bullet with the command "weapon_svd_speedscale X"
-You can now xontrol the amount of gibs that are created when you "gib" an enemy with the command "gore_raggib_max X"
-(not sure how to use this command, i'm guessing it changes the weight of the object your looking at?) You can now change the weight of an object with the command "phys_massscale X"
-With the command "ragdoll_electric_boogie 1", enemies will now have an electric efect shock them when they are dead if you kill them with electric damage (i.e the laser gun, the golden crowbar's alt fire, and maybe a few others)
-You can now turn on an experimental bloom shader with the command "test_bloom 1"
-There was a message in the translated changelog that said "As for 7/29, the seashore before the novar prospect (d2_coast_12) to please get together. (Test_bloom 1 recommendation) ", my guess is that there is on easter egg when you go to that map on that date, and that it looks better with bloom enabled.
-Weapon sounds have been revamped, they sound really awesome now
-The gore has been enhanced when using the gore_extreme script. When you kill an enemy with a bullet-firing weapons, a stream of blood will shoot out out the location that you dealt the finishing shot, this also creates blood wherever the blood stream sprite collides against, looks really awesome ingame.

Enjoy the new update everybody, it's a really good one!

Awesome stuff. SMOD is great for directing violent Half-Life 2 movies.
