yeah not the best of moves. drama shows like these are usually very linear and pretty much require an orderly approach.

as far as flash backs, i love them in moderation. they make me feel closer to the character because i know more about them. but the island is still very mysterrrrrrrious.

you know, I've never had a girlfriend or done anything non-platonic with the opposite sex, so I'm having a little difficulty. It can't be done right as long as humans are involved. You can make up and maintain a personality to fool someone, but a computer can't do anything similiar.

Yeah, but, this isn't like so many other drama shows. It's quite unique in form. It shouldn't be defined by other show; they can do what they want.

Lost got the viewers because it was new, fresh and exciting, but that is starting to die down now. The producers are just cramming so much stuff in, the plot doesn't seem to be moving at all, just getting more and more convoluted and people will grow restless.
When Lost was first aired in the UK, everyone (and I mean pretty much everyone) in my year watched the first few episodes. About 75% watched all the first season. So far this season (season 2) only 2 people I know of are actually watching it. Our ICT teacher got the box sets etc, but now can't be bothered with it.

It's still a very popular show. We're talking about it on a 50-page thread, aren't we? There are forums galore surrounding it right now. The fact that so many people are watching The Apprentice instead doesn't say anything about the show, it says that those people are the 'now now now' people that need to have something huge happen every show.

It doesn't look like such a major spoiler to me. I mean, we already knew they don't live in those tents... So a high-techy building seen from the outside with a lot of jungle around and an ABC watermark doesn't really seem like such a huge spoiler to me. I think it's safe to see the picture.

Does anyone know how many seasons of Lost have been commissioned? I can't find this information anywhere.

so they closed the season 3 thread...but we can continue here.

i predict michael will feel so sorry for his "friends" that he will want to come back and help. hugo will start losing weight and get fit (he can't be fat forever). and sayed will be the new leader. jack, james, and kate will all be ok since they are main characters. the korea guy and sun his wife (im sorry i forgot his names) will actually help more, since there are less people around to do daily chores.

also i predict that chick that is looking for desmond will come to the island and get trapped on the island with more survivors.

Well, Michael and Walt might have to leave the island due the fact that, correct me if I'm wrong, but they have only been on the island for four months and Walt is growing up faster than he should in the time frame of the show. I don't know how the writers are going to handle it, but now that JJ Abrams is back on for production of this season (season two he was filming MI:3), this season should be spectacular.

I hated season two; they eliminated all the struggles that come from having to survive stranded on an island. I remember when Jack being caved in was an intense moment in the first season; they kind of lost that ability to make something simple feel like a real threat.

I love Season Two. Sure, they don't have all those survival problems but the hatch really brought on its own challenges and crazy situations. Obviously it wouldn't be very fun to have no big changes between seasons. I saw a small preview of Season Three a couple nights ago, and it looks like they're taking us into some really crazy territory. But how do you follow that finale? I suppose we'll find out in 20 days. I have a feeling it's going to blow us all away.

I think the first season finale was a lot more gripping and tense, and they topped that pretty well within the first few episodes of the second season.

This will definatly be interesting though. Has this been confirmed to be the last season?

Having just seen the Season 3 preview, that cage Sawyer was in seems reminiscent of the old monkey-button tests they used to do, where a monkey would push a button and get either food or a shock.
Maybe those are the cages where they held animal experiments such as that super-long-living ape from the Lost Experiance. The machine definatly seems '50's style
