as far as flash backs, i love them in moderation. they make me feel closer to the character because i know more about them. but the island is still very mysterrrrrrrious.

Yeah, but, this isn't like so many other drama shows. It's quite unique in form. It shouldn't be defined by other show; they can do what they want.

When Lost was first aired in the UK, everyone (and I mean pretty much everyone) in my year watched the first few episodes. About 75% watched all the first season. So far this season (season 2) only 2 people I know of are actually watching it. Our ICT teacher got the box sets etc, but now can't be bothered with it.

i predict michael will feel so sorry for his "friends" that he will want to come back and help. hugo will start losing weight and get fit (he can't be fat forever). and sayed will be the new leader. jack, james, and kate will all be ok since they are main characters. the korea guy and sun his wife (im sorry i forgot his names) will actually help more, since there are less people around to do daily chores.
also i predict that chick that is looking for desmond will come to the island and get trapped on the island with more survivors.

I hated season two; they eliminated all the struggles that come from having to survive stranded on an island. I remember when Jack being caved in was an intense moment in the first season; they kind of lost that ability to make something simple feel like a real threat.

I think the first season finale was a lot more gripping and tense, and they topped that pretty well within the first few episodes of the second season.
This will definatly be interesting though. Has this been confirmed to be the last season?
Having just seen the Season 3 preview, that cage Sawyer was in seems reminiscent of the old monkey-button tests they used to do, where a monkey would push a button and get either food or a shock.
Maybe those are the cages where they held animal experiments such as that super-long-living ape from the Lost Experiance. The machine definatly seems '50's style
