I just picked up this bad boy right here:

To those of you who have 6800 GT's as well, any advice you can give me? Any performance tweaks, overclocking advice, really really really neat things you can do with it? ::rockon::

Dude you got a high-end card, why would you overclock it now? You don't need extra power.

Well, okay, maybe I don't need to overclock it.

But tweaking it could be fun.

I just purchased this card as well...except I decided on the EVGA version (most overclockable and best results). I would wait to overclock until absolutely necessary.

If you do decide to overclock...do it in 5mhz increments until artifacts appear. Then go back 10 mhz and that will be your top clock speed.

Nice. How does my card compare to that? I've got a Radeon 9800 Pro 256.

It is ALWAYS necessary to overclock :):

My first 6800GT overclocked nicely, over Ultra speeds. my second is doing slightly better. Im waiting for my third which will have special cooling so I'm hoping for better results.

Radeon 9800's are/were good cards. Their technology is rapidly becoming outdated, however. Yours should last you another 6 months....maybe a year tops.

The Radeon 9800 are the 2nd highest generation of video card, up there with the Geforce 5900/5950 on Nvidia's side.

Current generation are Radeon x800 and Geforce 6800.

Your card is still quite powerful. I just upgraded from a Geforce 5900 Ultra myself.

It wont fry, it has built in overheat protection.

PNY's stock cooling is *decent*, so I would indeed take caution while oc'ing.

And the overheat protection is not infallible. Do proceed with caution.

I got it for $375 because it was an opened box.

Regular retail price is $399.
