I'm in need of buying myself a brand new PC, so I've decided to go with a 7900GT (256mb).

Any suggestions on which brand has provided the best performance? I had a look for a collection of benchmark results from different 7900GT brands but I did not find anything.

I just OC'ed by 9800 Pro from about 378.00/338.00 to roughly 401.00/380.00.

I'm pretty sure the offerings from BFG and eVGA are overclocked right out of the box. You may want to take a look at those.

Edit: Found this on THG, thought it was cool.

I just installed my new Zalman VF700 Cooling Unit. I had to use my phone camera... :):

It's breath taking really. Compared to the garbage ATi stock cooler this thing is huge (of course) and works fantastic when pushing games and over clocking.

Nvidia plans to sell its upcoming, doubled-up, if shorter, Geforce 7950 GX2 cards as a single card. You will of course be able to buy two of them for use in Quad SLI, but a single card will work happily on its own. It should settle down at around the €/$600+ price and should be announced on the last day of May, the 31st, of course.

We think Nvidia can really give ATI a run for its money here, as it plans to position a two-chip single card against ATI's top-of-the-line Radeon X1900XTX. The Geforce 7950 GX2 card will roughly cost the same or it might end up little more expensive than ATI's but it will certainly outperform a single-chip Radeon X1900 XTX.

It won't be a cheap card to produce but it sure has all the chance of being the fastest one.

So, if you were thinking about buying two 7900 GTX cards, you might want to hold your breath for two more weeks and buy a two-chip, two-PCB 7950 GX2 for just a little bit more money.

I recommed BFG. I got a 7800GTX from them with an out the box OC and its great. Also the best thing about BFG is that all cards come with a lifetime waranty.

I got two XFX 7900 GT XXX's, very poweful shite! I'm happy it will run Crysis because it is DX9 compattible. But yea IF something like the 8900 GT comes out Ill run straight to my favorite manufacture of graphic cards, XFX ftw!

Edit: double-lifetime warranty

I'm bumping this for a reason. I didn't want to make a completely worthless thread about this, but I need to ask: Should I get the Radeon X1800XT or the GeForce 7600GT?

Um does that mean that I should get the eVGA(the only brand they got at the store) 7600GT? If so then...um ok in CSS everyone said to get the 7600GT, so I guess I will!.
