Right now I am listening to Casey Scores A Goal. Of course all of you may have not heard of them at all. Because they are local to my area. They broke up about two years ago I think and they are of the genre of screamo.

At the time they were pretty good. Most screamo singers don't look like they are good screamers but you would be suprised.

You might get some good stuff on them if you do a Google search though.

Chest Fever by The Band.

They used dummy lyrics while they practiced this song and nobody felt like changing them, so they didn't. It's pretty obvious once you listen, eg "i feel the freeze down in my knees, but just before she leaves, she receives" buduhduhduhdun-buduhdun-dun-duhduhduh /drum fill

This song is the undisputed champion of keyboard intros, intros in general actually.

I love this band. For those of you who don't know who Kyuss are, they were the band Josh Homme was in before he formed Queens of the Stone Age. This is one of my favourite albums, and i'd highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys QOTSA's sound.

also nick oliveri, past bassist for qotsa :8

listening to A Perfect Circle - The Package right now. I cant believe nobodies mentioned them yet!

First time i ever even heard of them was when i saw them live in ~2000. It was at the lost weekend in london + they were one of a load of bands who were there, but i was really there to see NIN... who didnt show up because a fan had been killed at one of their gigs in germany (i think) the day before :(.

Saw a load of great bands that day, and APC were by far the best. not that i appreciated them at the time, since i was pretty young for that kind of gig at the time - 16 maybe? i remember i was doing my GCSEs at the time. or was i....? anyway i was pretty young + when APC came on everybody went mental + started surging forward, and i got knocked about a bit (not badly, just kinda jostled), so i didnt enjoy their set that much.

a couple of years ago i went + bought their first album (Mer de Noms)... didnt like it at first but i loved it the second or third time i heard it, and the rest is history :): second album (Thirteenth Step) > Mer de Noms btw :8

I'm listening to those Min[o]ra tracks Sleeping Mind posted. Not totally to my taste (I actually downloaded them because of the reference to Tool <.< Been on a Tool/APC binge as of late).

Think I'm gonna go listen to Parabola =D

Ernold Same - Blur
Got this song while fixing my friend's iPod. It had the entire "The Great Escape" album on it. I don't know very much about Blur, but I think that every song on this album is good. How rare.

oh man, yeah that was like one of the first albums i ever got! memories ftw! it is a great album and goes to show that blur are, were, and always have been better than "play some chords + sing in a whiney nasal voice" oasis.

this album turned me on to blur in a big way (yes, i do mean it like that :):) and im still a fan of gorillaz (bit of a damon albarn connection there, boys and girls). not a fan of their stuff before park life / great escape though

Kid Rock - Only God Knows Why
Suddenly felt like listening to this song. I used to really enjoy Kid Rock's music years ago when I was young, naive and only knew one Metallica song.
I can still remember every word of this one. :zombieattack

That's my impression of kid rock, so I tend to stay away...plus I had one of their CD's, I don't remember what I did with it. Perhaps a cerimonial incineration.

Blue Oyster Cult - Transmaniacon MC

This is another band that I began listening to when I was very young, and I love them dearly. Blue Oyster Cult played old fashioned rock and roll by our standards, and later bubblegum rock. I don't tend to listen to their later albums, as the first three (Tyranny and Mutation, Blue Oyster Cult, and Secret Treaties) are excellent, and I'd rather think of them in their earlier incarnation rather than the bubblegum mutant they came to be.

Transmaniacon MC itself has an interesting story behind it, it relates an event that took place at a concert that Blue Oyster Cult attended at the Altamont Speedway, The Hell's Angels, a popular and rough bunch of Bikers, had been hired on to handle security at the event. During the course of the concert, a shoving match developed near/behind the stage. One of the people involved pulled a gun, and a Hell's Angel stabbed him to death in front of everyone, including BOC. They wrote this as the central theme of Transmaniacon MC.

Quote

With satan's hog no pig at all, and the weather getting dry
We'll head south from altamont in a cold blooded travelled trance
So clear the road my bully boys and let some thunder pass
We're pain, we're steel, a plot of knives,
We're transmaniacon MC

Behind the pantry, behind the tree, the ghouls adopt that child
Whose name resounds forever, whose name resounds on terror
And I'm no fool to call that hog, cause man I remember
Those who did resign their souls
To transmaniacon MC

And surely we did offer up behind that stage at dawn
Beers and barracuda, reds and monocaine
Pure nectar of antipathy behind that stage at dawn
To those who would resign their souls
To transmaniacon MC

Cry the cable, cry the word, unknown terror's here
And won't you try this tasty snack, behind the scenes or but the back
Which was the stage at altamont, my humble boys of listless power:
We're pain, we're steel, a plot of knives
We're transmaniacon MC

trampled under foot-led zeppelin

a song which talks about sex, with machine parts and phrases. second song to talk about sex with inanimate objects, this being the infamous lemon song.

Greasy, slicked down body, groovy leather trim
I could lay ya on the road, mama, it ain't no sin
Talkin' 'bout love
Talkin' 'bout love
Talkin' 'bout
Ooh, trouble-free transmission, watch your oil explode
Mama, let me pump your gas, mama, I'm gonna do your oil
Talkin' 'bout love, huh
Talkin' 'bout love, ooh
Talkin' 'bout
Take my heavy metal underneath your hood
Baby, I could work all night, believe I've got the perfect tools
Talkin' 'bout lo-oo-ove
Talkin' 'bout lo-oo-ove
Talkin' 'bout
Automobile club-covered, really built in style
Specialist tradition, mama, I'm gonna feast my eyes
Talkin' 'bout love
Talkin' 'bout love
Talkin' 'bout
Factory air-conditioned, wind begins to rise
Guaranteed to run for hours, mama, I need brand new tires
Talkin' 'bout love
Talkin' 'bout love
Talkin' 'bout
Groovin' on the freeway, blazes on the railin'
From now on my gasoline I believe I'm gonna crack your head
Talkin' 'bout love
Talkin' 'bout love
Talkin' 'bout
I can't stop talkin' about
I can't stop talkin' about
Ooh, yeah-ee-yeah, yes, ah, drive on
Ooh, yeah-ee-yeah-ee-yes, I'm comin' through
Come to me for service every hundred miles
Baby, let me check your points, fix your overdrive
Talkin' 'bout love
Talkin' 'bout love
Talkin' 'bout
Ooh, yes, fully automatic, comes in any size
Makes me wonder what I did before I got synchronized
Talkin' 'bout lo-ooo-ove
Talkin' 'bout love
Talkin' 'bout
Ooh, feather-light suspension, coils just couldn't hold
I'm so glad I took a look inside your showroom doors
Talkin' 'bout love
Talkin' 'bout lo-oo-oh-ove
Talkin' 'bout
Oh, I can't stop talkin' about love
I can't stop talkin' about love
Ooh, let me goin down, goin down, go in down, goin down, goin down, down yes
I can't stop talkin' about
I can't stop talkin' about lo-oh', baby
I can't stop talkin' about love, or my baby

Relient K - Who I am hates who I've been

Don't like the song that much but I got it stuck in my head when I was driving with one of my lady friends who kept listening to it

Composer: Clint Mansell & Kronos Quartet
Title: Fall: Supermarket Sweep

I just love the Requiem soundtrack, it's an amazing piece of work. Been meaning to get the remixed version of it, though I hear it's not as par as the original.

Let me clarify something people. This thread isn't meant to house every track change that occurs, as the last one, followed by a short little blurb. It's meant more to focus on what track/CD/artist you're really into at the moment, followed by all the wordy stuff you want to include.

So I have to adjust my listening habits according to my emotion now?

What are you, the thought police?
