Fort Minor - Kenji.

Im sure many know about the group...the main rapper is Mike Shinoda from Linkin Park. Its probably one of the best rap cd I've heard in a while...the lyrics are well written and are well complemented by the music/beats. If you like rap...its well worth a listen.

That is one of my favourite albums.

40 oz To Freedom- Sublime

I like this song...yeah.

The Dwarves - Way Out

Good, fast, punk. Their subject matter isn't always "appropriate" for under-age listeners, but I think they put out some great stuff. I've been to 2 of their shows so far (unfortunately they don't make their way down to TX often), and they're always great. "Come Clean" is probably my favorite album they've released, if anyone would care to check them out.

Bon Jovi is on my hit-list.
I loathe him with every fiber of my being.

*logs in after month hiatus just for this*

Why? I've met him and even hung out with the guy when he came to work. He is a very nice person.

And Then There Was Silence - Blind Guardian

I'm still on my Blind Guardian binge, I can't get enough of them. Greatest power metal band I've heard.

Their new album is due for release this september, I can't wait. If you've heard their new single (Fly) you can see that they've developed a new style, hopefully it turns out well.

He may well be, but I can't stand his music.

I'm listening to Red Hot Chili Peppers right now, I'm loving Blood Sugar Sex Magik. Flea is one crazy mofo on the bass.

The Mars Volta - Cassandra Gemini II

I am SO pissed that they're not coming to Ottawa this tour. Plus I'd go to Montreal to see them, but the tour they're doing with the Chilli Peppers isn't a co-headlining one. And they're only the opening act, so that means barely any tunes. Sigh...argh!

Well yeah, the beginning could be classified as ambient, but the song as a whole... nah. It's too loud and rock-like.

Hmm... hard to say. A lot of people might classify it as ambient. My own definition (aka not objective) of ambient is pretty strict, and I'd rather classify this as something else. Good song though.

Maybe it's just because I'm having hard time classifying the band. They have a really unique sound so it's hard to classify.

This is just a reminder. Read headmonkeys initial post before posting in this thread. Especially the edit at the end of the post.

I'm really digging Nelly Furtado's Promiscuous Girl. Canada what! Timbaland is fantastic, he did some amazing stuff with Missy Elliot as well. And every so often a female pop song comes along that rocks. This is that song.

I don't really listen to them, but I wanted to post them too see if somebody likes them...

MIN[O]RA (it's a link!)

They're a new-metal band I think, I don't know the difference between metal or hardcore or whatever. They sound a bit like Tool but slighty more "conventional".

Since they don't seel their CDs (yet at least) all of their music can be downloaded right Here

Check out their second album "Wicked scenes from a memory", the song "Injustice" is my favourite one. And it's all free! :8

If you check out their cd-covers (.pdf format) you can see that they are inspired by Tool's videos and such at least a bit.

Again, I don't listen to this kind of music (I'm into trance) but maybe somebody likes it...

I'm listening to the Mars Volta at the moment, which is one of my favorite bands of all time. The song is L'Via L'Viasquez, which is also my favorite song by them, probably because of the Latin overtone to it all.

make that 3 for the mars volta! :):

listening to roulette dares (by the mars volta, duh) atm, off of 'de-loused...'. strykerz - yeah l'via l'viasquez is a good track, but not the best on the album imo, since its the most conventional track on the album + the mars volta are at their best when theyre doing the wierd, experimental stuff.
i may be listening to deloused right now but imo frances the mute is a lot better, i think they manage to tie the album together better and the songs are frankly more interesting - except maybe Plant a Nail in the Navel Stream which doesnt really have any musical substance. it still works as part of the album as a whole though. got to say that pour another icepick is my favourite song of theirs, its got that 'weird factor' but it also rocks hard :8
