Actually my guess was fairly shy according to wikipedia.

very good guess on your part.

I wonder how many stories a 2 mile high building would be.

I think its safe to say between 2-2.5 miles. But the thing seems to grow and contract, so who knows.
*edit* is there a math wiz out there who can calculate that for us?

i don't think so, the middle reshapes at times, depending on its status and the alertness, but i don't believe it grows or contracts, i could be wrong, but i just don't think it ever did that.

Yeah, that's pure conjecture on my part, maybe I felt like the citadel was expanding and contracting because I spent too much time playing HL2. :wack

it looks waaaaay smaller than 1 mile when you see it in-game, but when your at the top of the elevator its like 129043729378294 miles up.

haha yeah, i would say "yeah, maybe it does that" if it wasn't for the fact that i am pretty damn sure it dosen't do that.

I can imagine Dr. Breen sitting in his chair... "Oh ******* its moving again..."

yeah, it seems possible untill you realize it would drive Dr. Breen insane. He's trying to do paper work and the darn thing extends like a... well... you know what... every half-hour or whatever. Also, you never see the top expanding in the game.

But yeah... anyways, i am standing by the 2.6 miles from Wikipedia, thats probably straight from Raising The Bar.

Actually I think the combine adds to it slowly so It probably does grow, either upward or down. Maybe both.
And I think Dr. Breen was already insane, at least a Meglomaniac.

yeah, possible it is.

Whether Dr. Breen was insane or not, is a whole nother discussion all together.

Don't forget, it's also pretty damn far underground as well.
I would say a mile or two isn't out of the question, it's in the clouds, and probably further. Look down from one or two of the windows at City17 from the end of the game. It's rediculous how high it seems form there. And It's not impossible in a science fiction game, as their arcitecture could be much more advanced, not to mention having stronger materials-you don't know how strong that dark metal looking compostite really is.
