New compy...what RAM?

As with a lot of people on here lately, I be building a new compy:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 2.13GHz Socket LGA775, 2MB, BOXED w/fan £149.95
Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3, P965, Socket-775, ATX, SATAII, GbLAN, DDR2, 1xPCI-Ex16 £97.36
Gainward BLISS Geforce 7900 GT "Golden Sample" 256MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-040-GW) £187.99 - 2nd Gainward 1 down. Not sure if i'm being crapped with this 1 as it seems a bit cheap for 550/1400 and the 1 above it is crapper but costs more.
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB SATA2 16MB 7200RPM £54.01
Antec Sonata II Piano Black Quiet Midi Tower - With 450W SmartPower2.0 PSU £70.45
NEC DVD±RW burner, ND-4571A, 16x, Dual, Ram, LabelFlash, Black OEM £27.50

Total £587.26

I'll see what the onboard sound is like before deciding whether or not to get X-Fi as well. Apart from that I think i've got pretty much everything sorted (don't need keyboard/mouse/monitor), I just need suggestions on what RAM to get; preferrably no more than £100 and at least 1Gb.

Thanks.

I had that same motherboard, and it kept shorting out my headsets. I would get a soundcard.

I think you should get a soundcard if you have the dough.

Get a soundcard if possible. And I would just get corsair value select ram. It's cheap and reliable.

And it's fairly high quality, in my experience. I love Corsair RAM, it's the only thing in my system that hasn't gone bad yet.

Ok thanks:

Corsair 1GB (2 x 512MB) DDR2 667MHz 2x64Mx64 non-ECC 2x240 DIMM Unbuffered CL5 Lifetime Warranty £62.22
or
Corsair Value S. PC5300 DDR2 2048MB Kit w/two matched Value Select 1024MB £136.01
?

Would 2Gb actually do much for me compared to 1Gb? More than double the increase in price -_-

Yes it would. Most new games already chew up more than 1GB (including OS and background app use) and it's only going to get worse.

I don't know why this one is cheaper, but since it is, you might as well get it instead :tongue

Ok thanks didn't notice that. Changed the cpu and mobo as i've been reading a lot that the 6400 is hella easy to overclock past 6600 speeds with negligable difference from the extra cache. And i've noticed that it's apparently better to do it with the P965.

I don't know if it's better...965 certainly seems to be hitting higher FSB though, and the Gigabyte DS3 is a good overclocker :8
