Definitely looks like an interesting game, as I have no consoles though I guess I won't be playing it. I guess its console exclusivity explains the minimal advance in graphics from GTA:IV

I'm pretty excited for this game. I like the focus on detective work instead of just shoot outs.

I can't wait to get this game, though the face movement looks great the heads seem like they are made of plastic. But I can't wait to see what the detective stuff will be like.

i wonder how boring or repetitive all that flashy stuff they talk about in the video will be

red dead redemption had all these gameplay videos talking about all the ~~COOL THINGS YOU CAN DO!!!!!~~ in the game and they were nowhere near as impressive as they made them out to be.

video: YOU KILL EVERYONE IN THE TOWN AND IT WILL BECOME A GHOST TOWN!!!!!
reality: spend 10 mins shooting everyone and there will only be a handful of ncps spawning off-screen walking around.

video: you can choose to uphold justice or be a criminal!!!!
reality: if you kill innocent people you get a black horse and discounts in a town, if you're good you get a cool coat and some extra items. nothing else in the game or story changes.

i like the guy's voice in the rdr and la noire videos, it's like the ultimate shilling voice.

The investigation stuff they showed looked somewhat similar to Condemned, which is a good thing.. I think. Never bought those games actually, anyone here played them?

Condemned 1 is atmospheric but has terrible level design and the combat is quite simple for the most part. The investigation scenes are all in auto-mode in which your character automatically selects the tool he has to use and all you have to do is point out where the clue is. The main character walks like a turtle and can only run for 5 seconds.
Condemned 2 fixes all the gameplay issues 1 had at the cost of atmosphere, the game is less scary now that the main character is an angry drunk who throws hobos on the ground and keeps punching them until their brains are coming out of their ears. There's also the issue that during the last two levels the game stops focusing on melee and turns into a shooter. Which I didn't mind since you spent the last 7 hours punching/stabbing people, but a lot of people got irrationally angry at this. The improved investigation scenes rule and actually let you choose what tools you want to use, after each investigation bit your sidekick asks you questions about the murder, etc and you answer them selecting a sentence from a multi-choice list.

Get both. The first is decent and the second is very good despite what an angry loud internet minority says.

Yeah, I played Condemned 1, and apart from all friendly NPCs sharing the same silly bulky body, compared to enemies who were 5 times slimmer, I agree with Guinspector (oh god, did I actually type that?). After having finished it, I uninstalled it forever. It was enjoayable, but not enough to play it again.
I haven't played the sequel, but I heard that Batman:Arkham city will have more in-depth clue gathering than B:AA.

So what do you guys think of the game? I'm having some trouble and wanted to see if I'm the only one.

Great story and atmosphere but the part where you play it falls a little flat.

It is NOT GTA: Cops.

Has some decent replay value since there are multiple ways for cases to play out.

Might be a better rental if you have the option. Or if you can get it for 30-40.

Well my question was if I'm retarded because I feel like every time I'm choosing Truth, Doubt, or Lie it's completely random. I feel like it's blind luck if I get the question correct. I want to pull my hair out if I choose one and Cole flips a shit on the person and makes them clam up. It seems sort of silly that the response can be that extreme and you as the player have little to no warning.
