When do you see HLFallout end?
#1 Posted 05 November 2006 - 10:32 PM
After being here for over two years, I find it hard to imagine being a devoted member of another community, and when I think about the demise of Ye 'Ole Out of Fall I seem to get extremely nostalgic about these forums and one thought usually crosses my mind: "where will my net surfing go to when I'm done?"
For now, I go asleep and leave you to ponder: When will this community end?

We do what we must because we can.

I've been here since about 2 years ago, and I've had fun with people, then they left, and then had fun with newer people.
As long as there's a fresh supply of enthousiastic and quality peeps, we cannot die as a community.
However, the site itself is almost already dead...it's completely outdated.

Well...ep1 was released a while ago already. don't we know more than speculation?

This community has become something more then just a Half-Life orientated fanbase. Even though the mainpage serves us our daily news needs on everything Half-Life related (such as mods, episodic content and what not) I don't think it'll ever 'die'.
It'll be a looooong time for the entire HL series to end and even when that has happend this community will live on in some sort of way.
...Us regulars will find shelter...

But you'd be hard pressed to initiate a nuclear fallout that would affect all members of this forum. I guess my answer is somewhere between next Thursday and never.

Thats when it will die.
Yep, thats what will happen.
But it can be avoided if they are smart about this. When the time comes they need to transform this site from a half-life fan site to a Valve fan site, supporting whatever Valve is making. That way the community will stay.
