Considering the popularity of the Official console threads in the other gaming forum of HLF.
The fact that each thread grows at the rate of about 8 pages a day, I personally think it would be a great idea to have a sub-forum for each console/company. It would make it very much easier to sort out the information and easier for people to address the issues/problems they have without having to trawl through a 700 page thread or post a question and have it swamped by other people's discussions.

'Think he meant each company as in MS, Sony and Nintendo, instead of subforums for Xbox, Xbox 360, GCN, WII, PS2, PS3, GB:DS, and PSP.

I can't see a problem with that idea...and there is at least one console junkie (Did not mean to make it sound offensive) who is always in one of each thread, who could probably moderate them too...

i tend to agree. i like the way each "official" thread changes topic with each new major release. right now 360 is on gears, and in a week or two it'll probably switch to lost planet, the ps3 thread is kind of a mess (no moderation tbh) but once people actually have the machine it'll fix itself.
the only reason i can see individual forums is to make it easier to sift through information, which is fine, but that could very easily distract from the fact that this is primarily a half life fansite, and not a gaming one.

Although that is true, it's kind off evolved from just a half-life fansite, I'm guessing even when the hl series finishes we will still be milling about.

It would make it a lot easier to find usefull information if we had a sub forum. It would also be a lot easier to find out whats going on in that specific consoles world, since you don't have to siv through pages to find news, but can just check thread headings to see whats happening.
