Half-Life Fallout: Registration Bug - Half-Life Fallout

Hey guys, I'm a new member here and just registered, but I had a really hard time getting things to work right.

The first problem I encountered was during my registration. When I submitted my registration I simply got a white screen with an error message on the top left hand corner. I wish I had written down the error message, sorry. It was definitely an error message given by the forum, not my browser or anything.

As a result I thought my registration hadn't gone through, so I tried to re-register, but it would say that my email address was already in use, and I realized it was from my first registration. So I figured that my first registration should have worked, so I went to log in but I got an error message. lol So I went back and made a new account with a new email address, but got the same error as the first time I tried to register.

Dazed and confused, I visited a profile and tried to send a staff member a PM (while a Guest/not logged in), and I was required to log in again. This time though, I noticed a difference, that being that it was asking for my username, instead of my email address. I enter my info from my first registration attempt and BAM! it works! At that point I realized that I now had two accounts registered. lol

Looks like others have had the same "enter email address" instead of "enter username" problem too. Why hasn't the text been changed to say "enter username" in the main login screen?

Has anyone else had the registration error?

On the positive side, this place has an absolutely amazing looking skin!

First of all, welcome to HLFallout.net

Secondly, we recently had a forum upgrade, which changed many things, one of them being the said bug above. From what I understand most are known of and are awaiting fixing. I have no idea how big the bug list is... Mostly it is cosmetics though.

Ok. so how would I go about having my other account deleted. I wouldn't want the username be taken up for no reason, when someone could register with it or something.

You gotta PM a mod to delete it. As for not wanting it taken up... This forum has over 10,000 registers. Theres heaps of names being taken up, so it wont make too much difference.

Hello, and welcome to Half Life Fallout. We still have some problems to work out since upgrading the forum software some time ago. That being said, we are aware of this issue and it will be sorted out as soon as possible.
