Saw the new Hangover movie a couple weeks ago. I noticed it got a fair amount of hate from critics, and I was wondering how others felt about it. Personally, though I found it highly improbable that they would allow themselves to fall into a vegas-like situation all over again, the content of the movie was good enough to keep me laughing (and/or cringing) most of the time. Totally worth my 8 dollars or whatever the hell it costs to go to a movie these days.

Also, I just watched "He Got Game", the 1998 Spike Lee film starring Denzel Washington and the Boston Celtics Ray Allen, along with Milla Jovovich and Rosario Dawson. To be honest, I picked it up mostly because I <3 Milla and I wanted to see how terrible Ray Allen was at acting. Turned out to be a pretty decent movie actually, Ray Allen had his moments, Denzel was Denzel, and Milla was a trashy hooker who is smoking every time you see her (still love her!). The only thing is, the movie seemed like it could have been about 30 mins shorter and everything could have been wrapped up nicely. Not a particularly complicated story (although when everything comes back around you realize that Spike Lee took an opportunity to point a finger at our justice system and the way it hates our dark skinned brothers, surprise.)

The Way Back

This is a movie about Soviet gulag prison escapees who walk 4000km to India. Surprisingly good flick. You'd expect it to get a bit boring, but it's actually quite interesting and the views and landscapes look absolutely stunning! So much variety in the landscapes. First the snowy Siberia, then Spring/Summer somewhere around southern Soviet Union and Mongolia. Big desert after that and then Himalayas.

The Mechanic

Hitman flick with Jason Statham as the hitman. Pretty good action flick. Good stuff to watch if you are bored or feel like watching a simple action movie.

I just saw The Mechanic as well. Good action flick if you're into JS or that other kid in the movie... Not sure who he is, but he was in the first Punisher movie, the kid who got his lip rings ripped out with pliers.

He was also the main dude in Pandorum. Oddly enough, I watched Pandorum and then The Mechanic later that day, not knowing he was in both. It was bizarre.

Not really a movie but I've been watching Game of Thrones on HBO recently and I really love it. I'm a huge fan of the book series and I feel like it is really doing the books justice so far, glad they are actually putting a budget into the series and doing a decent job casting it. I would recommend that everyone read the books though, very very good series :D

Awesome series indeed. Just watched the finale. I literally can't wait for the second season so I'll go ahead and read the books :)

First season is finished? Good, now i can watch them in one go - I really hate waiting for one episode each week.

There is so much love for GAME OF THRONES. I really want to see what the fuss is all about.

This is the first episode I've been caught up for, and waiting the week or so for it to come out has been torture.

Just watched Transformers: Dark of the Moon

What I liked: The story was more simpler and better than the 2nd movie, a bit above the 1st one, so overall its the best one of the three. Its action packed, Michael Bay knows action and he makes it clear with the 3rd one being the most intense scenes. A lot of G1 references which was awesome. Optimus Prime looks sexy with his transport carrier and is actually more useful than previous G1 incarnation.

What I hated: Michael Bay's military eroticism, the required funny fat black guy, the pointless hot ass and shia lebeouf. Essentially all the human actors except for that ex-sector 7 guy & his companion. The quickness of characters killed left and right likely to push new transformers product line.

Other notes: Hobo Megatron? Seriously... Shockwave was pointless as well.

Conclusion: if you liked the first movie you will likely love the 3rd movie.

Every Michael Bay film should be erased from history.
