I've always liked the two Batman films by Burton over Nolan's. The latters barely resemble the original material beyond Batman being in it- Gotham is a generic city, the Joker barely feels like the character beyond the make-up, that love story between Bruce and whats-her-name is terrible and forced, and all the villain redesigns look like they're trying way too hard to make them look realistic. Burton's films on the other side were very good at mixing dark and gritty with the fantasy of the Batman universe.

Also, it's a terrible idea that after only two films in the Nolanverse they decided to do the WELP BATMAN'S OLDER AND WEAKER NOW! storyline.

New Ridley Scott movie, looks like a proloque to the original Alien, also by Ridley Scott. Looks awesome, with the old-skool trailer style !!

Anyone seen The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo yet? Looks really good.

Hate going to the theater by myself. Gotta find someone who likes to watch movies like I do.

I saw that a few nights ago. Did you see the Swedish version or read the book? I didn't read the book, but saw the Swedish version. They're very similar and the US version didn't water anything down like I figured it would, so that was a nice. Mara Rooney did an awesome job as Lisbeth.

It was originally going to be a prequel to Alien, but then Ridley Scott decided to have it be its own movie, although it's set in the Alien universe.

I just went to see The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. It started out a bit slow, and had a really strong middle, but I felt that the movie took too long to end. I understand that it was tying off the loose ends, but it seemed like there was a point that the movie actually ended, but it kept going for about 20 to 30 minutes after that. I didn't read the book, or see the original movie, so that might have had something to do with it. The score was fantastic though, but I'm a big fan of Trent Reznor's music.

Also, I've been watching the UK version of Skins recently. Currently right at the end of the 3rd season. I quite like it. Tried watching the US version, but couldn't even stand more than 10 minutes of it. It was rubbish, imo.

as was expected, from the trailors it looked more like a cheap scare slasher kind of film than a psychological one like the original

Netflix just launched in the UK anyone used this streaming service before? I know it as been available in the states for a few year, what's the liabary like, do they get new releases regularly? I use love film at the moment which is postal / streaming.

Also saw MI:GP the other week, it was OK, didn't really like it all that much tbh, felt a little stitched together.

Going to see Girl with the Dragon Tattoo this week.

its like going to a virtual video store down the street, except they dont have any of the just released to disc movies. I get the feeling that they lag a year or two before showing up. Its really nice, and I like the fact that one single account can be used for watching movies on your wii, web browser and android (which I do, house = wii, work == android tablet)

Overall, it has the library of mom & pop stores, rather than blockbuster, love to hunker down and watch some movies, interface is simple, browsing is more limited on the wii & android than pc, but there is a search feature. For 8 bucks, its a supreme deal. If I do wish to see new releases, I just go to redbox outside of our so called "WalMart" stores.

Saw Thor. It was pretty good. The love subplot, as forced as it was, had a decent resolution.

Going to watch Iron Man, Captain America and The Hulk in the upcoming days. Afterwards I'll watch The Thing 2011 so I can at least see one terrible movie amongst all these supposedly good ones.
