I just watched the video analysis of the ending of The Thing. I highly recommend it if you've seen The Thing lately or several times.

Before I watched this^ video I watched The Thing (1982) directed by John Carpenter. I don't think I've seen it before, but I still remember seeing some scenes but that might be because they're classic scenes. Any way, this is a fantastic movie with a absolutely great plot-idea! Brilliant idea and it's so nicely done, highly entertaining movie and it just blasts past it's 1h 48min playtime. I also liked the Swedes Norwegians because there's just not enough Norweigians in Hollywood. Who knew paranoia could be this much fun? :8

The ending was... well... it reminds of Inception.

Oh and I love this scene, it has a nice religious touch to it - the sacrifice for survival.

Also the sound that "that thing" does when it's being attacked sounds a bit like the weird trumpets/sounds in Lustmord's Black Star.

Saw Iron Man 2, it was decent but not as good as the first. Villain felt underutilized and certain plot elements like the new Stark Industries CEO seemed rushed or shoe-horned. That cliche SEXISM IS OVER tough female character was pretty bad too.

Herp Derp.

I just finished watching Star Trek: TNG, after watching all of DS9, on sui-'s recommendation.

Now, all I need is bad plastic replica of a phaser, and I can apply for a membership in the united federation of gigantic nerds.

Well I haven't even watched TOS either, so I have a nanogram of dignity left.
Last episode of TNG was really good, too, much better than that drivel DS9's finale was.

Let me say the unthinkable: I still think Stargate SG-1 is better than Star Trek. Just like Edgar Allan Poe's books are so dreadfully boring nowadays because everyone's copied his (then brilliant) plot twists and storytelling, so did Stargate take Star Trek, set it in present times, and iron out most of the silly campiness while tying everything together with a decent overarching story.

No no no, it was about time Stargate got off the air, SG1's last 3 seasons were already post-mortem, Atlantis was...meh...Universe was...shit.

You're probably right, but I still would've liked my Stargate fix. It's not the same without RDA though.

Saw The Incredible Hulk today (the more recent one). I think it's the best Marvel film since it wasn't bogged down by dozens of subplots and the love interest made sense, unlike in Thor where it felt forced or Iron Man were it was unnecessary.

My list so far would be:
1 - Hulk
2 - Iron Man
3 - Thor
4 - Iron Man 2

Still have Captain America left to watch.

You should check out X-men: First Class which is a decent prequel to the series.

Atlantis got kind of repetitive and the ending wasn't the best, but I thought it had some good entertainment value. The banter between McKay and Sheppard was always entertaining.

Brumi, I'd watch Star Trek TOS if I were you. Even if it seems kinda shitty now, it does have some great moments that any sic fi fan should see.
