Hannibal Rising - 2/10...
Boring, and it seems like they made Hannibal into a ******* vigilante. :|

Pursuit of Happiness 4/5. Really well done uplifting movie. Felt slow in some parts.

Idocracy 3/5. Not amazing, but a very scary philosophy of the future.

The Constant Gardner 4/5. Interesting movie about poverty in Africa and the drug companies.

A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints 4/5
I really enjoyed watching this. Though the editing has its flaws the acting and dialogue brings a lot of life to the screen.

The Prestige 5/5
Christopher Nolan (Memento) is an amazing director not to mention the superb acting by Bale and Jackman. I love this movie.

Fight Club - God damn, still can't get over how *******ed up it was.

Epic Movie - One of the worst movies I've seen in my life.

I'll be watching Requiem for a Dream in a bit...wish me luck.

Requiem for a Dream is pretty depressing.

Jesus Camp - Probably the scariest movie I've ever seen. For those who dont know, its about a evangelical camp in North Dakota where they literally brainwash kids with this extremist Christian thought. Its insane.

Yesterday was movie day. I watched:

Flyboys--Pretty good. The action sequences were great along with the DTS soundtrack. The movie was a bit too long imo. They couldve cut out some scenes that I thought were irrelevant. 7/10

Running with Scissors--Different kind of movie. I guess it was a coming-of-age kind of movie. Kid gets adopted by his mom's shrink and the shrink is nuttier than the mom. 6/10

The Hitcher--no, not the new version. I watched the old version (with Rutger Hauer). Great movie. It just pissed me off how the main character was such a dumb *******. He had so many chances to get away but was too stupid to realize it. But Rutger Hauer sure is creepy in that movie though. His performance in that movie is right behind Blade Runner, which I thought was leaps and bounds better than The Hitcher 7/10

Dead Man's Shoes: The rental cover is appalling. It makes the film seem very corny and unoriginal. Safe to say this is one film you cannot judge by its cover. It tells the story of two brothers. One has a mental disability and the other has come back from the army. The one from the army decided to take revenge of the drug dealing bullies that picked on the disabled brother. Think "Taxi Driver" only more British. Absolutely brilliantly acted and directed. Must see, 5/5.

Agreed, I saw that movie when it came out and I was blown away, I really wasn't expecting much.

My favourite film recently is Children Of Men, but I had a massive great big rant about it the other day in the MSG movie thread so I can't be bothered to go into detail, I'll just say it's the best British movie of the last 10 years imo.

I saw Waking Life last night. It was pretty intense stuff and difficult to really take everything in. Can't say I really enjoyed it because of that, but some of the ideas they put forth are really provocative and the art direction (it's the same guys that did the Scanner Darkly animation-ish stuff) really goes well with the the content.

Oh yeah I saw Smokin Aces and it seemed to me like Smokin @$$es. I'm sorry but the whole plot was dumb, the action scenes were too far and few between and there were too many weak characters. Maybe I have seen too many movies but I think I'm looking forward to more sequals this year as well as the many many remakes. 300 and Ghost Rider are the only new ones that really interest me. Ninja Turtles looks like a rental to me.

Smokin Aces 4/10
-mindless action
-weak plot
-weak characters
+chainsaws
+explosives
