So I saw The Departed last night. While it was a good movie with good acting, I just didn't feel it. The characters were well played, but also pretty cliche. I didn't really like the way the plot was developed. This is one of the only times that I'll say a movie as long as it was moved almost too quickly. All the undercover stuff that should have been hideously difficult and time consuming was pretty much glossed over.

Also there was very little point to have any love interest at all for any character in this movie, and I have no idea why there was one.

I saw the butterfly effect last night.

Very strange film but really good.

I hate that film so much. It seems like a cheap cash in on the cult status of Donnie Darko, simplifying the time travel theory and putting stupid Ashton Kutcher as the lead role.

Resident Evil: Apocalypse: I stopped myself for a long time from seeing it due to how bad it looked and I wish I had stuck with my initial plan. Absolute trash. Poor acting, poor story, shallow characters, and not all that exciting action. The Nemesis looked laughable, which was the final nail in the coffin of this appalling film. 1/5, only getting the 1 for the cocky cab driver with crappy dual replica pistols.

What? You didn't like the dual gold Desert Eagles ("My ******* is custom"), the motorcycle through the stained glass window, the slow-motion throwing of a cigarette to ignite the gas, the super cheesy "tough girl" Jill Valentine wearing her street-walker street clothes even though she was on duty and wasn't anything like her character in the games who was basically scared shitless, the fact that the NEMESIS TURNS GOOD AND SAVES EVERYBODY!!!??? This movie optimizes everything the games were about.

Yeah, I spoiled the movie. Who cares. I saved you a good amount of time.

RE:A sucked big time. Me and my friends were out the door as soon as the credits lit the screen up. After seeing the first one you gotta ask what went wrong. same thing with doom. I seriously think i could have made a scarier and more worthwhile movie

Miami Vice is Michael Mann's worst film. I liked it but was disapointed.

Snakes on a plane - Abosolutely loved it, it was so funny and gruesome i couldn't help but laugh the whole way through, the ending was alright, lol

Silent Hill - Pretty good, i liked it, though the ending seemed to be lacking according to my dad and bro in law, it was good movie but could be better, also is the movie based on the game?

Blood Diamond: Pace seemed a little too slow in the first half; but otherwise the show is full of suspense and with an exciting performance (as expected) from di caprio (is that how u spell his name?) I thought the performance from the lead girl wasn't as convincing, however, nor was Dio's father played that well, altho i can't remember exactly what contributed to that impression - probably a multitude of things. Whilst I thoroughly enjoyed the show, i don't really dig the moral of the story, in the sense that it simply did not seem too sincere to me. I left the theatre thinking that it was a good movie and money well spent, but i did not feel too much regarding the issue of the "blood diamonds".

The Departed: Great film, although the ending was a little weird with all those heads popping like balloons in a carnival. I'd say it's great, with convincing performances from all the lead roles. Also, note that The Departed is actually an adaptation of the HK film "infernal affairs". Infernal affairs actually up to be a trilogy. The Departed took the first ep and hastily filled in a conclusion. In my view, this was rightly so. I could attest to the quality of the infernal affair sequels, which was good in a way, but stretched a little too far. All in all, great movie.

Smoking Aces - I knew what I was walking into when I saw it, so I enjoyed it for what it was. Although, I thought it was a little light on the action for that type of film.

Crank - This is a movie with a bunch of random violence, and then it just ends. It was incredibly over the top and laughably absurd. It wasn't a great film, but it was so much better then Jason Statham's last movie, Transporter 2.

The Prestige - Christopher Nolan is an excellent director. This is defiantly something that should be watched. Its about two magicians who have an ever-increasing feud that starts to get out of hand. I'd say more, but it is better not to know many details before you watch it.

The Departed - I know this was a remake of a Chinese movie, but it was simply awesome. The ending surprised the hell out of me.

Well, I for one would be interested in seeing a movie that continued this story. And had the same feeling as the first.

Agreed. I don't necessarily care for a sequal with as much action, or Hollywood production put into it, but rather, I'd want to learn more about the story, and what happens with the world after the end of the first. Its a really interesting story / concept for me.

If not a second movie sequal than maybe a book? I honestly never read, but this might be one I'd be interested in.

A book would be better if there was a story that is. I don't really think this film was intended to...continue the story. I mean "we got it", yano. It had that powerful message/vision. It's a stand-alone reflective piece. What more could you ask for?

I literally jut finished Miami Vice, and I really enjoyed it. If you could somehow search 'Miami Vice+headmonkeys' on this forum, you would find my previous comments in threads less then favourable when awaiting this films release. And sure a rather short story was really drawn out, it was overly long at points, and the characters were 2-D, but I'll be dammed if I wasn't incredibly entertained. It has great style and direction, the locales were great, the action was fantastic, and the acting was really good.

Overall 4/5

I found Jamie Foxx acting really pumped during that part at the trailer park. I have to say that was one of the best parts of the movie.

The Sin Eater
Yesh, he's gonna eat your sins so you can go to heaven. Average movie but I don't know it had some feeling to it.
