OMG Dave Matthews Band in Melbourne on Friday 13th of April. Will no doubt be the best night of my life. Ever.

I went to see Muse last month, sound system was horrible and the first few songs they played were a bit dry but it got a lot better towards the end.

I really want to go to a Dream Theater concert this year. They're all I've been listening to for the past 5 months. They're saposed to be touring in the US in july/august after their new cd comes out and they tour in europe in june.

Dream Theater gigs are such good value for money, they go for around 3 hours :tongue

This month I might be going to a local battle of the bands kind of event...a hot chick asked me to go, how could I say no :zombieattack
No sign of big name acts coming here anytime soon but it's still early in the year.

I missed Blind Guardian, which is a bummer, as I would have liked to see them. I'm not entirely sure who else is coming to Aus any time soon. I know Hatebreed played a night or two ago.

Sad to hear your still calling these bands "emo"... I find all music that has EMOTION to be emo... yes there was a time where there was an oversaturation of sappy ******* bands...

Give MCR a try... and MUSE a big TRY... seriously don't close your mind off to anything..

Honestly, I am more of a electronic/techno head... but I enjoy ALL music(very little country) and am very passionate about music with feeling and passion (the kind that gives you the chills)

**steps of soap box** =)

Oh, trust me, I've listened to both of those bands. MCR is nothing more than uninspired pop punk (worst combination ever.) while Muse is plain pop alternative. Boring. I prefer my music indie and experimental.

Anyone feel that 'emo' is very similar to Hair Metal of the eighties, with vocals replacing guitar tracks?

A lot of what people call 'emo' (just using it for lack of a better term, rly) just seems that way to me.

No offense. I love black clothes and melancholia, and depressingly odd symbolism. Bring it yAWN.

Don't worry, its gonna be awesome! I saw in your profile that you live in Almere, so I presume you're going to Peppers in The Park (Nijmegen) ? I love their older songs the most, but this new stuff they're trying out with Stadium Arcadium is well... pretty interesting too

There's a huge difference between somethin emotional, and something 'emo'. If you were watching a movie, and the hero is reunited with his true love, you wouldn't go, "Oh man, that ******* is emo", but instead "That's a pretty emotional scene". 'Emo' is someone that is whiney, angsty (because they think it's cool), or someone who cuts themselves for attention. Emo music is filled with pissing and whining, along with a heaping helping of angst and cynical poetry.

I personally don't like it, but some people love to listen to other dudes whine about *******.
