IT works alright for me too, on medium settings, with my new beast of a laptop.
However, the game takes ages to load up, and alt-tabbing is a huge chore.

I'm having a hard time adapting to this new kind of GTA experience, especially since I just played vice city no later than yesterday. Still, it's pretty enjoyable, with this new, more realistic city, although everything seems kind of sluggish due to the new physics system, and the more realistic interactions. I got pretty sucked into the immersive environmentand story, and I'm less inclined to kill random people just for the fun of it than before.

I can feel the relationship building is going to be a chore though.
Also, I miss the ramps all over the place and random monetary rewards for silly stuff.

There are some ramps around, maybe not as much as in previous games though. Alt tabbing is not really possible for me, because if I do it the game either crashes or the textures totally ******* up.

You can launch it without Steam. You just need to log in RGSC and you should be able to play.
In steamapps/common/gtaiv/RGSC

By 'nuke' they mean meltdown of your computer's cores. Chernobyl was just the alpha test of Crysis.

Been playing this a lot after Christmas, because it runs so well with my new graphics card (well, comparing to my old one at least) and I'm just having so much fun with it. So many things to do and try. I also like the realism, though I should probably try out Saints Row 2 for fun open world crazyness.
