I miss GameShout Radio so much
One of the best gaming memories is playing Battlefield: Vietnam and listening to their stream, before they went crazy and started playing Top 40 music like so many generic radio stations. That was the beginning of the end. Didn't Andy Hodges go crazy towards the end?
EDIT: Andy Hodges tried to sue Valve for $25mil over a domain he squatted lol. Apparently Valve caved and agreed to pay Hodges royalties on Steam purchases (find that hard to believe but it was reported in some mainstream news outlets). I think after that he went on the offensive against disgruntled Valve fans and that killed them off. Supposedly they lied about their listener count too. Oh and then came their MMO game Lost Colony, wow...so many memories coming back!
Yer the jerk!
Holy crap a full show on YouTube!

Sorry for my return, but had to post something here..
Listener count was their connected IP's. If you listened @ work/school/home = 3 "unique" listeners. It was just part of the marketing. They did have companies like ATi, Yahoo, NewEgg etc advertising, can't remember any other gaming radio had any advertising even these days. And compared to XJR Radio, GameSurge Radio etc, GameShout was so damn popular. Oh and that real studio sound quality <3
That Lost Colony project was... bad. Andy's team was... Andy alone. There's so much to say, but maybe ill keep my mouth shut. But you just can't buy some random 3d engine for your Planetside clone. And those pre-orders, poor people.
Pre-recorded shows = "the end". Those were so boring to listen, like Capt. Mav hosting some Wacky News without anyone else in studio. That compared that those early ones (pre 2006 or so) when full staff was having fun together.
Yep, thats me. Ive been uploading Wacky News shows for Capt. Mav.
