Embedding Video?

I'm just wondering what the command line is to embed, say, a youtube or gametrailers video into a post here. It is quite a hassle having to click a link, and go to these sites, loading all the random junk that they have.

If it is not enabled, when will we be given this ability/ultimate power?

Why :(

I know this system allows for the embedding of video, it would be so much better if we could.

HTML needs to be enabled for this to happen. Most of the time Board Administrators choose not to allow posting HTML because people could sneak in extra coding that would screw up the style of the page or redirect people and such.

Sorry I am noob, what is this difference between embedding a image from another website and embedding a video? Dont say one is a video apollo or I'll break you.

Only mods can do it I think. I could be wrong since I'm not an expert, but uh feel free to try.

And no, clicking a link is not a hassle, you dimwit.

Psch I don't know.

My HTML skills are nill. How I got this job I don't know. That being said, I don't need it often, thankfully.

No need to be so harsh :(

It's a hassle for some people, because I dont have unlimited bandwidth like others, and I generally try and save as much as possible. I view a lot of videos linked from this site, and every time I have to load up all that sites advertisements and other junk, if we could just embed them here, people on limited bandwidth wouldn't have to go through all that.

Oh really. Well it's nice that you're thinking of yourself above others. No one else has complained.....:P

I mean I don't know what to tell you. Just don't watch so many videos? Or perhaps, cut back in other bandwidth usage areas.

I'm sure a lot of people here would love to have embedded videos, its a standard feature at tons of forums and they have no problem with it, I dont see why it cant just be enabled and if there are any problems, which there wouldnt be, then just simply disable it again.

If tons of other forums have it, go use those forums.

Again, I don't know the ins and outs of coding and such, and whenever I embed a video there's always a handy 'embed' option with the video. Find one of those videos, copy the code, see if you can paste it. I think GameSpot has such a feature. Hopefully I don't get in trouble for suggesting this.

Though frankly, I find it ugly. And from a purely aesthetic standpoint I will not allow them. Good day.

City 17 I see you there. DO NOT HELP THEM!
