It's truly a geek's phone. I have an iPhone 4 that I use as my daily driver (my girlfriend and iMessage each other too much) and I've owned pretty much every phone out there at one point or another. The N9 is hands down the best designed phone I've ever owned. It's just downright sexy.
As a phone though, I think it's great. The OS is excellent but there are no apps. The good thing is apps on MeeGo are written on the Qt framework like Symbian apps are so they can be ported over relatively easily. Also, since MeeGo is based on a linux kernel, and isn't just a java VM like Android, people have been porting over linux functionality to it. The N9 community is the geekiest dev community I've ever witnesssed.
It's a shame Nokia went with WP7. I love WP7 but MeeGo could've been something big. Especially with the way that Nokia opens up their software. The community is doing some cool stuff with this phone. If you're looking for a phone to tinker with and see one of these cheap on Craigslist, definitely buy it. I'm contemplating switching over completely now.

first one, looks useful, comfortable and all around good shoe for any occasion, second one looks gay, and not the stylish gay type.
