Nothing like spending a bunch of money on speakers that are so good they make most of your music sound like shit.

Large volumes of high quality uncompressed music are hard to come by on a budget lol.

Genelec speakers are extremely high quality, but tbh, they're usually better as professional speakers, as in, for a recording studio, as they tend to give a very exact sound quality, but are not really made to be used at home.

Well, I suppose. The small size is a plus, since they will be for my computer. Any other ideas?

Headphone upgrade, Sennheiser HD-600

Those to go with the new Dac/headphone amp. Will probably sell those HD595s, but the band is a bit cracked (which is one reason why I wanted new ones).

Edit: Except those are out of stock. Will have to think if I want to wait or not. Could alternatively buy a new pair of speakers.

Went with the HD-598s instead, should be easier to drive and cheaper too.

Those look sexy. I have a pair of HD555's that I'm in love with, how would you compare them with these newer models? I'm always looking to learn more about sound.

Those haven't arrived yet. I think they should be here tomorrow. I'll post my thoughts in a week or two when they have properly burned in. I have read that the 598s have a better sound than the 595s (which I have) so with the new DAC I'm looking at a nice improvement (not huge, but noticeable). Also, they look absolutely gorgeus.

I liked The Thing. I was very pleasantly surprised by that one.

Just got Total Annihilation on gog.com. Holy Jesus I loved that game. I used to get in massive arguments with a friend of mine in high school over which was better: Total Annihilation or C&C2. Hint: TA kicks its ass.

Time to go see if it has stood the test of time.

You can move the characters with the analog stick. No clicking involved.
It's pretty interesting this way. First time i'm playing a Commandos game on a console.

The difference between HD595 and HD598 is not too big, but these newer ones do sound brighter and the bass is more noticeable / deeper. I think the DAC possibly improved the sound quality a little more than the switch of these headphones. Wen't for the "same" model because the band in the old headphones was cracked pretty bad and I love Sennheiser's for the comfortable factor. You'd probably notice a larger difference if upgrading to 598 from 555.
