I'm only mildly trolling. :P

I hope this game turns out well, I'm glad they hadn't shelved it indefinitely. They competent people.

Gearbox has got my confidence, I didn't pay €49,99 for their latest game so I'am not angry with them and by the looks of the trailer it will be a cool game and because of it's Aliens ofcourse.
And if not somebody has to grind some gears.

Another hand-holding scripted shooter, one based on a franchise they're too afraid to experiment with, and instead resort to homages.

It's a shame, as a proper colonial marines game would be awesome, one that gives you freedom to explore the ship/wherever like a survival horror should, and not like you're playing an semi-interactive movie.

You know it's going to be bad when the player mows down 6 aliens in 30 seconds without any effort whatsoever.

Wow that looks like garbage. The animations and NPC movements look like they were cribbed from the first Halo.

How did anyone reach those conclusions from less than a minute of gameplay footage? It looks decent, which is surprising since Gearbox hasn't made a good game in 6 years.

Hmmm, it IS possible, but with some effort, proof:

It's incredibly disappointing that they're proud to rehash the same setting and location and rely merely on a homage. We've already experienced the adventure in film format and in most ways in every single AVP game. LV426 is buried in my psyche. DO SOMETHING NEW. I want to see space marines in exotic alien locations, the crown jewels of the galaxy. I want them to meet interesting and stimulating creatures of an ancient culture, and kill them. I want my space marine to be the first kid on their block to get a confirmed kill!

...and uhh, Paul Allen. I killed Paul Allen with an axe..in the face. His body is dissolving in a bathtub in Hell's Kitchen.

Hell yeah that's a great idea, in the movie you hear them talk about other missions, bug-hunts and other things I don't remeber right now. That would be nice for some variety.

For an Alien title it seems weird to only have white male characters in their 20s as protagonists.

I just saw that video and Eat "Jesus Christ" Children is pretty much right. It looks like a constant barrage of scripted events with modern genre tropes such as Tower Defense. Being constantly surrounded by your teammates and casually shooting dozens of harmless aliens removes any tension the game may have had. At least Aliens Vs. Predator had the decency to have you be on your own with your constantly beeping tracker.

Randy Manchild should also shut the **** up.
