you should add some plants and a little grass to the ground

you can also add a lot of trash lying near the building like soda cans and others, a stack of tires (i see that there are some lying in the shadows but you could place them somewhere else maybe) would also work near the house

if you want to you can also change the windows a little - maybe one is broken or there is a neon "open" sign behind the window, or make it look like that curtains are blocking the view inside and not just some flat texture

in the background there could be an old rusty car that someone wanted to repair once but it's forgotten now
or add a big gas tank somewhere

i'm also not sure what the rainbow colored thing on the left side is but the texture is certainly unfitting for the scene

All the small details still need to be added, like clutter on the floor and grass. I already added a broken window but its not in that shot. The rainbow thing on the side is a caravan that i still need to texture, not sure if illl be using it yet. I was thinking the same thing about the windows having some blinds behind them to make it seem like its sort of abandoned.

My hallway scene:

Took me a while to settle on the look of this one but im pretty happy as it is now. Just need to brighten up the area close to camera a little then it should be ready for rendering. (and the lightbulb needs to be changed)

Finished the house scene earlier today and is rendering as we speak, will update tomorrow with the result.

This is one of the lighting challenges that i've been working on. We're supposed to texture and light 2 night and 2 day scenes. I wanted to go for an old gas station that you might find on route 66 or somewhere similar. I'm pretty stuck on what to do with the ground and the background for the moment, any ideas or feedback would help a lot.

Needs way more rubbish. It looks like someones come along and picked the place clean. A few old tires, rusty bumpers, car parts, petrol cans etc. (If you're bothered modelling it, a rusted truck)
DAS ENDEN MEINEN ZWEI CENTEN.

EDIT: Just realised this post is a week old, and someone else bumped your thread. I hope its still useful though :(

Looks wonderful, and almost good enough to pass off as real

So I've finally finished my course, and here's my showreel for the year:

This won't be the final one i'll be sending around but we had to make one as part of our final submission.

Wow not sure how I missed this! Looks great man. Reminds me a bit of Kremator's work from the now dead NightFall mod.

That is full of epic awesomeness. Only a couple of things:

-the bug at the beginning could use a bit of texture
-the blocks hitting the building could use some faint shadows as the blocks get close
