I just bought the game. While Origin has a faster and sleeker interface than steam, purchasing a game doesnt inmediately show up on your games list... valve spoiled me. Im still waiting for confirmation email... :(

do I need to setup a bf3 name? my origin nick is suicide_mission

EDIT: urge to kill.... rising...
EDIT2: been 30 minutes since I purchased the game, no confirmation email, not in my games list, but, the cash has been immediately extracted from my bank account. apparently, EA is known for doing this... rage level: 50 heptagons...

EDIT3: got the email, 50 minutes later... still not in my games list... rage level: 3 billions

Decided to reinstall bf3 to see if the crashing and freezing in multiplayer had been fixed... so I download 16GB and now keeps saying either I need to be an administrator to continue or just does nothing when I try starting the game, been trying to fix it for an hour fucking annoying.

I recently bought the game, found a cheap copy of the limited edition retail version, and will be raging alongside everyone at how stupid origin is when it arrives in the mail.

That sucks, I didn't have any problems when I bought BF3 but I remember having to wait ages when I bought Syndicate. Yeah you create a name for your soldier in Battlelog, your Origin ID has nothing to do with BF3 except letting you access the game.

What hardware/game settings are you using? According to Battlelog I've been playing for 34 hours and the game has never crashed for me, perhaps it doesn't like the drivers you are running?

I have 90 hours in BF3 with no crashes since October of 2011, maybe check your hardware settings?

EDIT: It's a double xp weekend, which apparently means "700 extra points" in DICE speak. I played 3 rounds and got a "2x Multiplier" of 700 points every time regardless of my score.

Weird, I just played a round and got 11,000 extra XP. I would check your XP before and after a round, see if it's actually only giving you 700 or if it's just a progress bar glitch. I've pretty much only been playing Team Deathmatch this weekend, it definetely gets you XP the fastest. Regularly I'll just be playing Conquest.

CQ is alright. Conquest domination and the level design finally makes infantry Battlefield feel less like a shitter Call of Duty and more like...well, Battlefield. It's pretty awesome seeing environments get ripped to shreds too. The destruction modelling system is very cool.

Not a fan of the industrial map though, and a lot of the matches I've played devolve pretty quickly into shotguns and rocket launchers. At times it can be ludicrously hectic.

I agree, Scrap Metal is probably my least played Close Quarters level. Although if you travel along the roof of the left-side bridge connecting the two buildings and wait under the upper window you can get some pretty decent Squad-Wipe ribbons quite easily in Squad Deathmatch. It takes your opponents some time to figure out exactly what is going on ;)

I can't decide between Ziba Tower and Operation 925 for my favourite map from the expansion, they are both very well designed. Can't speak much for Donya Fortress, I think I like it but whenever I play it the mode switches to Gun Master so bleh.

PS Eat if you're having trouble with the levels turning into rocket spam, can I recommend sticking to servers with a 16 player limit. I've found that to be the sweet spot for these maps.

My specs are:

2.93 GHz Intel Core i7, 4 GB Ram, ATI Radeon HD 5750 1024 MB on windows 7.

I tried all the settings and different drivers but still get a crash or freeze a few mins into a multiplayer match. Single player runs fine. I've given up trying to fix it. I think even multiplayer ran fine but then they patched it and it just started crashing.

Everyone at EA probably took the weekend off and is out getting drunk off all that premium money. I would call them on Monday and rage...or check your spam folder. I didn't even have to wait this long for Syndicate and that game is technically banned here.
