Thank the lord. Being blinded by a fucking 10 trillion candle power flashlight in the middle of an open field at noon is by far the most annoying thing for me in this game.
I have to agree. I was actually in the army and had a flashlight on my M4 (and Meprolight reflex sights later EOTech holographics sights until I switched to ITL MARS sights). Some of the other guys also had flashlights on their weapons, and even though it was a powerful, blinding flashlight -- it wasn't that blinding in daylight, but when it was completely dark it could blind you almost completely.
But we never EVER used them when we went on missions. They revealed our positions, and that's never a good idea for the enemy to know your exact location (a powerful flashlight in the dark can be seen miles away). We instead opted for silencers and nightvision mounted on our helmets. A few lucky guys were awarded infared vision (not everyone got one because they were more expensive than nightvision).
Tactically speaking, infared vision + weapon silencers are the best choice for CQ. Flashlights are for underfunded amateur armies and militias.
