Well, if it is simpler than BF2, then I doubt I'll like it to be honest. BF2 got old to me after a few months. Most games do actually.

Battlefield 1943 isn't a full release game. It isn't coming to retail stores and is simply an update for 1942 to the new engine. They seemed to pick the most played maps and stuck with them and wanted a tighter experience. It's only available over Live, the PSN, and the PC as a download, so it can't be too big.

yeah, but three maps, and they're all tropical locations? it needs variety. imo it should be one europe map, one africa map, and one pacific map, if they're deadset on three.

My blood is BOILING right now.

If this news is true, EA is officially ******* retarded when it comes to the BF franchise for the PC.

EDIT:

Clarification:

TWENTY-FOUR PLAYERS????????????

THREE MAPS????

REALLY, EA???

REALLY?????

How about the fact its just BF1942 with a better gaming engine.........that makes you have less players then the older engine.....

Its like BF2142 all over again, same ******* different era except oh wait...its the same damn game they already came out with 6-7 years ago. (wow seriously it came out in 2002)

Im done with the BF franchise, BF2142 killed it along with the fact they made BF2 crap after a couple of months due to broken patches, and just all the damn expansions to make you pay for guns.

Ah was just about to create a thread myself. Seems you 1-upped me when it comes to attention whoring.

Anyway, I'm interested in 1943. Because from what I could tell that trailer showcased Wake Island and Wake Island was all I ever played when I used to be into BF1942. All I ever played.

That's crazy man, Market Garden was awesome!

Booooo. EA has milked the BF franchise to death!

BF:BC looked good, but it was a lagfest! Sure it looked amazing and sounded amazing - but it played horribly. It didnt look like it was lagging, but it was. The game decived you! take the guns as an example. An entire clip point blank would result in a few registured hits - a sniper would need to adjust for lag - and players would die a fraction of a second after being hit. It was all luck, you could be the most skilled player in the world and still get destroyed because the engine couldnt handle the connections.

I never played 1942... but I have blayed 2 and 2142. BF2 was an amazing game, I liked it allot. A+ to the development team. I also liked 2142, but by this point EA had sunk thier grimey paws into the game and released an expansion right after release making you pay for what should have been free! They also abandoned the bf2 community giving out crappy patches and half-arse'd fixes. ingame advertisements and crappy EA community support ultimatley ruined the 2142 experiance as well as any BF experiance.

since then I have vowed no more bf :(

This isn't true, the engine itself wasnt great, but they didnt abandon it. They tried to fix it and sure some of the first ones were crappy but the recent 1.41 is good and to top it off they are coming out soon with 1.5 and two free maps.

Meh, 1.41 was released years ago and I kind of doubt that they would release any new patches.

I am sad that it is not full. What they need is to redo BF2 so it doesnt suck. BF2 patch 1.03 was the greatest game... now its on god knows what.

There has been talk of a new patch for a while now, I also doubt it will be coming.

Which is unfortunate because a lot of people still love BF2.

Yeah I loved BF2 to the death and it's funny because I just checked that last match I played was somewhere around 2007 and I can remember then being talk about a new patch so I just can't see it happening.
