It's silly, over the top gritty generic cop stuff, and that's why it's delightful. Only now that the franchise has traded hands, everyone is looking for bandwagons of hate to jump on.

All we are saying is that the dysfunctional childhood stuff was kind of unnecessary with the shit Payne already went through.
