It's an engine issue yeah. The data loads fairly quickly yet you're forced to sit through the entire scene. But I'd be surprised if it wasn't patchable. Rockstar likely cannot be fucked as it might be quite a bit of work.
Unskippable cutscenes is literally the one thing preventing me from replaying via arcade mode. I enjoy the game plenty to grind for scores, but there's no way in hell I'm doing it with the current build. I can only assume arcade mode was added at the last minute because I can't imagine any half away developer allowing such a mode coupled with hours of unskippable, unplayable crap.

When they were testing the game someone must have called out this issue as they would have had to watch the cutscenes a ton of times... Just really weird that they didn't do anything about it.

"You're in a video game, Max". Making slow progress through number 1, my primary hdd being in the proecss of dying is not helping matters much either. Anyway, the "follow the blood trails" levels are pretty rage inducing. Not being able to see where you supposed to go on a pixel wide maze is not really fun. Other than those, the rest of the game has been great and reminds me why I liked playing video games.

The cutscenes prevent me from finishing this horrible game altogether. What a piece of shit.

Rockstar sold 3 million copies but that was lower than their expectations... 3 million seems pretty good to me but I guess it depends on how much they spent making it.

Interesting, guess that's why companies are so eager to make season passes and dlc to get some money back... Though even making that must be kind of expensive.

Never really got into the multiplayer aspect of this game. Is it any good? Was annoyed that some modes were locked at first (still are for me, haha). Hopefully the DLC will do something to the damn cutscenes. You'd think they would've got the message by now.

It's pretty good, takes a while to unlock stuff though, I think its a good thing that the modes are locked of when you start. It only takes a few matches till you are out of the newbie matches anyway and its a good way to learn all the maps and weapons without been shot to death as soon as you spawn!

The multiplayer is fun but not well designed. Every weapon sucks except for akimbo 1911 and PT92's which are death rays.
The sniper rifles you unlock at level 40 can be hip fired and are one shot kills, which is amazingly stupid.

A 297MB patch came out today and it broke the game so you can't get past the intro screen because it can't find Rockstar's Social Club app.
