Yeah it's still pretty much the same as FO3 with a few tweaks. I'm still enjoying it though, last time I played FO3 was a couple years ago anyway.

Just got to viki & vance's casino (or whatever it is).
The moment I walk in the door everyone pauses, looks at me, drops everything they're doing to pull out EPIC amounts of guns and blow me away. Even the cleaning lady has a rifle..
Can anyone tell me what to do? What went wrong?

I'm not that far into the game yet, but do you have any reputation issues with that organisation? If you're vilified they'll certainly shoot on sight.

I simply walked into Rimm, which is obviously under control of a bunch of escaped convicts, of whom attacked me on site. Once dealing with them I simply walked inside the place, as my objective marker was telling me to go and RATATATATATATAT dead seraph :(.

There's no way that's supposed to happen, I've only been playing the game for 3 hours. :/.

What armor are you wearing? You might be sporting unfriendly colors. ;)

Oh wait I have done that, and Inimitable might be right. If you're wearing the Powder Gangster outfit they will assume you are one of them and open fire.

VATS is so terrible in every way. I hate how it's obviously a compromise between the limitations of Gamebyro and 'classic' Fallout mechanics. Real time combat in Gamebyro stinks, especially gunplay, so they dumped in VATS to bring it closer to Fallout. There's still no proper balance, depth, or skill required in using it, made all the worse by many shots being easily to accomplish without VATS, yet forcing you to wrestle with the mechanics.

My advice is to pick a rifle, get a scope, a silencer, and stick with that. I took the entirety of Cottonwood Cove, including the tougher Legion members, by sitting perched on a rock 'hidden' on a nearby hill. Not once did they notice, and I managed to take down the entire cap with hidden criticals and headshots.

Posted my rental back, was fun for a little while but it got boring fast. And the strip is pretty piss poor, to say how much they focused on it I'm very underwhelmed it is really small and there are hardly any people which is funny to see in the making of video that they say they nailed it on making you feel like you are in vegas for real. Also every single person who sat down or was on a bed glitches and they are always to the side of it rather than the object.

I also had a bug where textures wouldn't load their high quality version:

I had a bug where somebody was writing on a chalkboard about 5 feet to the right of the chalkboard.

I've also had a few game crashes, which were a little annoying. Luckily it loads really quickly for me, so I could get back in fast.

Beyond those, I've been pretty lucky without too many of the bugs or glitches others have mentioned experiencing.

I must have the luckiest computer in the world... I've never experienced any glitches in FO3 or NV. The engine still chugs a bit occasionally, though.

The 'Gobi Campaign Scout Rifle' is an amazing device. I can now take down Deathclaws before they get near me, and one-hit-kill pretty much every other enemy in the game. Joy!

Where did you get that? I've been using the Plasma Cutter and that's been one or two shotting most things.

Check here for where to find it and its stats. What sells it for me is the range and high rate of fire for a sniper rifle. Coupled with a sneak critical and you'll take out practically everything in one shot. Even if you dont get the sneak critical it mows down enemies at close range. I cleared out the Deathclaw infested mining site with it.
