I've spent too many hours in this game so far and i haven't even made it to new vegas yet. This game is going to suck all my free time away.

The characters and dialogue in this one are more violent/vulgar than they were in fallout 3. I was shocked at first, but I welcome the more adult feel. I imagine that's how an apocalyptic wasteland would be like. Lots of violence and a lot of cursing. I picked up a new companion, veronica, she says she's really good at punching things.

lol

Don't get your hopes up for New Vegas. Even after I got there, I did more stuff outside of it than actually in it. The game is a lot better than Fallout 3, though. I still need to finish the latest DLC...

Yeah, The Strip itself is a bit of a let down in terms of how much is going on.
Still there's plenty of other places, to muck about.

With my current mods and Legion assassins teams getting Centurions even at low levels things are pretty rough on this fellow.

Agreed, being vilified by legion means getting assassin parties every day trying to kill you. Was tough until I started using explosives on them before they reached me, I can usually tell when they're about to come for some reason as well. But having legion hate me, the legion recruit camps won't be hostile towards me until i attack them. Bug I guess.

I took them out while I was level 12. It was really, really hard. I climbed up onto the side of a rock cliff where they couldn't reach me and shot them all from afar. I ran out of ammo almost but got them all. So satisfying

EDIT . . . even though the game has been patched a lot, I'm still running into some bugs. Inside the camp guardian caves and after clearing out the swamp people, I didn't get the option to heal the marine for xp even though I hadn't talked to him yet. So I reloaded a previous save and am doing it all over again. Ugh, lyndon.

All for 65 xp

SUPER EDIT . . . I like encountering the legion assassin parties in wide open areas, so that way I can set a trap for them before they even reach me. My favorite is 2 c4 charges. The bodies (parts!) fly oh so high. It's a pain in the ass using that much, even though it kills all four, I spend five or ten minutes trying to find each corpse to loot. That's what I get for having a really high demolitions skill

I tried it too at lower levels, but it pissed me off so bad. After obtaining the holorifle i was able to one shot all of those sob's... The save i use is the one from no point of return so i alrdy killed ceasar, must be the reason i don't run into assassin party's.

And Lily is so awesome

That's why I use this community bug patch. The site is German, but the patch is English.

It doesn't even say what it changes. I don't know about that. Or maybe it does but I can't read it

Was originally not impressed with what I saw about the Old World Blues DLC, until I saw this trailer

The B-movie feel is very interesting and then I read a short review on RPS and saw this picture

and read these two quotes:

Quote

Hell, at one point, as long as you’re packing the right Traits, you can seduce a lightswitch. ... and a hydroponics machine that sounds like Barry White and demands your seed.

Must have. But I'll wait for a sale. I just hit level 24 and just now arrived on the outskirts of new vegas.

EDIT . . . the last two legion assassin parties I've encountered have been bugged. The leader will run up to me, stand in front of me and stare for a bit before running off. I'll keep doing whatever I was doing and then a minute later he'll run back to me hostile. Alone. I'll find the other three one or two hundred feet away just standing around and they'll be neutral towards me. So I'll take the opportunity to either plant a frag grenade on one or throw some c4 in between all three. I'm seriously thinking about making a youtube account just so I can record how high they fly. The damage for one charge is ridiculously awesome.

SUPER EDIT . . . since I hate youtube, I'll just leave this here. The force of the blast seems to be the same even though his demolition skill looks to be pretty low. Mine's 92 and I think one charge does 280 damage. It looked like his damage was in the hundreds

Does anyone have a link to that mod that removes the brown filter? I need colors in my video games.

It takes place in the desert areas of Nevada and Arizona. What do you expect? At least this game has a reason for being so brown.

Agreed, the enemies and back story were interesting but that was it. No notable loot or anything. Apparently, there are a few quests that are involved with it, but I didn't have those having not been to new vegas yet

Doesn't the game take place two hundred years after Fallout 1? They could make up some bullshit science fiction explanation about how the radiation slightly changed the environment. Fallout 3 and New Vegas suffer from very bland art design. Brown deserts? Gray cities? God yessssssssssss.
You'd also expect nature to have overtaken cities and most of the terrain in general. Fallout seems to follow the cliche that once humanity is almost wiped out the world will be grimdark and everything will grind down to a halt for all eternity.

Fellout NV. It also makes nights darker, but the filter removal is probably the best thing it does.
