Despite initial reservations about this game, I'm enjoying it. I really like how it's not all the same thing like the first game. All the crescendo events and finales are different, not all just finding a place to camp and running to the evac. Everything is generally an improvement over the last game except for the characters (except for Ellis). I liked them better last game.

I <3 Scavenge.
This is probably common knowledge, but are there like...very few players playing this game anymore? Seems I can never find ANYONE playing an expert campaign.

Campaign is only fun these days if you play on Realism Advanced or Expert with some good friends.
I always find people to play scavenge, but I wish more people played Survival.

I see what they're trying to do, clever Valve... Associating ****-Her-I-Hope-She-Dies with Francis is not gonna make any like her any more! Why does Bill have to die (I'm assuming here, no spoilers available yet right?) instead of Rochelle?
And reitertating what I said in the news post:
There's gotta be at least 4 of us here who wanna play through the campaign tomorrow - I wanna play through it the first time on Expert with peeps I can talk to or at least text angrily at. I'll join the HLF steam chat when I get up - anyone else who wants to play through asap join up as well. Time zones be damned!

Permanently killing off a survivor is a profoundly stupid decision. It makes no sense and all it'll do is piss people off. L4D isn't a movie, it's a multiplayer video game where no character is any different or more important than another character.
Don't say another Goddamn word. Up until now, I've been polite. If you say anything else - word one - I will kill myself. And when my tainted spirit finds its destination, I will topple the master of that dark place. From my black throne, I will lash together a machine of bone and blood, and fueled by my hatred for you this fear engine will bore a hole between this world and that one. When it begins, you will hear the sound of screaming - as though from a great distance. A smoking orb of nothing will grow above your bed, and from it will emerge a thousand starving crows. As I slip through the widening maw in my new form, you will catch only a glimpse of my radiance before you are incinerated. Then as tears of bubbling pitch stream down my face, my dark work will begin. I will open one of my six mouths, and I will sing the song that ends the Earth.

Personally I like that a character dies. It causes it to be more immersive, I mean in a zombie apocalypse you wouldn't expect everyone to survive. Anyway if it does make people mad it wouldn't matter because I don't think I've ever played a public game of l4d where someone didn't bitch. I like that valve is at least trying to make a story go along with the gameplay.

I don't want any story or narrative or whatever in L4D beyond what you can infer from the game's surroundings.
