I'm not a big fan of the text style though. But it's a first step, I'm hopeful.
New site banner from Warvan a poll will be added here as soon as all the design ideas are in.

Overall, I think it's okay. It works as a wallpaper but I don't think it works as a banner for this site, at least not with the current color scheme and design/layout. I love having some more characters up there, but I'm not sure if the main characters (these being the centered characters) should be those of more recent (other) games. This is Half Life Fallout, not VALVe Fallout.

I love it. I love everything about it. Put gordon in the middle and alyx next to him but leave L4D characters up there and the pyro and spy.
I really love how it says, "It's safer here"
Don't change anything else about it. It's got the right amount of space and characters in it and everything else too.

Id say put it up now, it looks sweet. It shows change and refocusing of the site into several valve games and not just purely hl (yes I know, its hlfallout, but nothing will happen until EP3, so its best to evolve with valve, rather than being a fixed point)
Keep the one with colors and gordon/alyx to the side, then change it back at a later time or when EP3 comes out.

Fantastic banner. I like where this is going, but here's a constructive criticism: What happens after L4D2 comes out? Where do Coach, Ellis Nick and Rochelle go in the banner? There's bound to be traffic after L4D2 release and we need to attract the new comers who wander into HLF. So I'd say that there's no need to put all the four survivors from L4D1. Just put 1 or 2. Do the same with L4D2, so you will have covered both the games.

Yeh i agree with that part that Gordon should be more centralised. I know HLF was known for its simple and clean layout, but there does need to be a change in direction. It would be nice to have like an updated version of this site style. Perhaps afferentDesign have a few new templates to try out!

I don't think it matters, as long as Godron, Alyx, the first L4D team and some TF2 cahracters are there. It looks good as it is. (When Gordon and Alyx go to the centre)

Ok, hereīs an updated version:
I might need to tweak the positioning of the L4D guys. I donīt think itīs necessary to include all characters of each game, IMO with a representation of them the games flavour is already conveyed. With L4D, only 2 characters would look strange as the 4 of them are an integral part of the game. Suggestions welcome...
I once did some banners for a friends site where they would be seen in random order everytime you clicked on the home page. If itīs possible here, it might be a cool idea to do something like that so you can see different characters on the banner... it also helps with image size!

I like that idea! I'd say we do this!
I'd slightly reduce the grain/noise on the banner though, but beyond that it looks really really sexy! nice work!
