oh thats just for testing purposes, I didn't have any real control mechanism, just had a timer that when X happened, move the head up/down and turn the other way. In subsequent progress reports, I will be able to control speed, tilt, firing rates, all through the PC! Hopefully even by hlfbot- :D

I can't wait until it gets upgraded to level 3.

That is seriously cool. I'd buy that if it was available in a store or something.

Progress Report:

After a really long hiatus (read: hlfbot, marriage, pl_granma, poverty) I have had time to work on outputting sounds for the sentry.

Things look good, sound is ok, nothing to be crazy about, but it works, 8 bit mono, but I have 512MB capacity, so really i can load pretty much whatever i want.

(Dont mind my sister, she was waiting for me to finish recording before continuing to watch SUPERNATURAL.)

bump

almost there! I got the sound working and it receives commands

Just need to finish the Yaw motor circuitry, some polishing & repaint and im done! And yes, I do plan to take it with me to the office!

Software wise, it will all be on the computer side now, so no more fiddling with the sentry itself:

- Joystick control (next up!)

- Preprogrammed behavior (most definitely)

- A.I. control + camera (potentially)

- TF2 in game sentry control (really pushing for this one!)

That is so damn cool. I think you could even get a lot of money if you sold it on ebay, but I would keep it to myself if I were you (which you'll probably do) heheh.

I would be cool to manufacture these and sell them, but for now, this baby will sit on my desk. Bothering people with creepy sounds, following their movements, shooting at them.

I have 2 gigs worth of space. So I will load 8 bit versions of all the tf2 and portal sounds. Might also include any other sounds with all the available space.
