New Hlfallout Bug thread Mmmm new

Two things:
First off, I just posted in the movies thread, and upon return to the front page I saw my name next to two threads I hadn't even visited. I actually thought for a moment I was seeing things, but that's just the LSD.
Edit - Just noticed it did the same thing to Trapped...it appears that the name of whoever made the most recent post appears next to a few more down the line.
Secondly, I believe on the first day I mentioned the speed; it still takes a few seconds longer to load for me. And I've verified with both my PCs.

Yeah I noticed it as well. I think it's been mentioned and is supposedly a bug in the software, so we just have to wait until it's patched.
And yeah, the speed is still a problem for me, too. Hopefully this will be fixed with time?

It has been reported and hopefully fixed in the next software update.
Good to know, but does invisionboard release updates often? 'Cause this bug is so god damn annoying... You can't tell whether or not someone's actually posted or if it's the bug!
Oh well, good work so far Mutley! HLF likes you

I've just updated some colours (removing some random blue/green patches) from the Messenger and Settings screens and a couple of other places.
Server transfer is being a bitch!! It should be very soon now though. Hopefully that will make people post a bit more frequently, I'm finding myself the load times are off-putting.

As mentioned already google chrome both BETA and stable in Linux and Windows formats everything to the left, so would seem the CSS is possible being ignored, I'm not too sure.
The other issue is that the site is EXTREMELY slow in comparison to the old site, this maybe due to the upgrade and whats going on in the background etc but I hate to think what the site will be like when there is news of Half Life 3 / Episode 3 or anything else is released the site may become unusable.

I understand why this upgrade took place, and form the looks of it, there were some nice technical changes all over the place, and some fresher ideas here and there, but one of the reasons I loved this site was how easy it was to read. For instance, right now, I'm not a fan of typing this message across the entire span of my browser page. Just so you know, there are optimal line reading lengths for most people, which you can check out here...
http://desktoppub.ab...line_length.htm
Within the forum, there seems to be far less contrast now that the white is gone as well. The greyscale pallet of the past seemed to make all of the avatar's and sig's pop out quite a bit!
And the front page isn't too hot in a few ways... it feels a bit off. For instance, whats that random gradient just to the left of the Latest forum posts area? And the transition from that box to the news is rather awkward. I think keeping them as separate entities makes more sense than trying to make some kind of transition between the two rather unrelated elements.
Also, stick with the consistent font of the site for that Latest Forum Posts sign as well. Jumping between fonts without a really special reason is generally a big no-no!
And loading forum pages is slow as balls for me for some reason. And the whole site layout is completely broken in chrome, even though it loads.
All that said, while I may not be totally pleased with the layout, Sir Mutely, you are the MAN for finally taking action on our once old, decrepit site! I appreciate all your hard work, even if it looks like I'm kinda slamming you up here. Im just hoping that you can use some bits of my advice and criticism to make the site better! And above all else, Im just one person, and the majority seems happy overall.
Keep it up!
PEACE
I think most of the things you have said are actively been fixed now, especially on the main page.
