Does anyone know if the game is going to be a direct sequel like Invisible War or is it going to be a prequel to the orginal Deus Ex?

Not many details out there for it yet. Only a small video already posted in this thread. So no.

not very likely, i read somewhere's that the estimated release date would be somewhere in early 2009. They're supposed to have at least 18 months of development for it.

The estimated release is not 2009, they just plan to have a full staff for the new studio by 2009 :P

Deus Ex. Such an incredible game. I never completed it, but what I played was surely epic and innovative.

Will the third installment impress? We'll just have to wait and see...

Could this possibly be for the Xbox3 and PS4?

"I cannot say exactly which are the platforms that we'll be working on specifically. It's going to be announced in maybe early 2008 or maybe summer. But we're not working on current or last gen, it's next-gen and PC."

I assume that last gen is PS2/Xbox, current gen is 360/PS3, so doesnt that mean next gen would be the next round of consoles?

Believe it or not, they refer to the 360/PS3 as "next gen"... and have been doing so for months, maybe years?

You did not finish the sentence from the quote:

"I cannot say exactly which are the platforms that we'll be working on specifically. It's going to be announced in maybe early 2008 or maybe summer. But we're not working on current or last gen, it's next-gen and PC." We would suggest he means the Xbox 360 and/or PlayStation 3.

They're using the Tomb Raider: Legend engine. There's an article about it on CVG.

Thats just PALGN making an assumption, I highly doubt he was referring to the PS1/N64 as last gen and PS2/Xbox as current gen.

Do you have the alphabet shoved up your ******* and you just randomly pick letters and numbers and throw them into your posts? Seriously, what the hell? Xbox3 and PS4? You honestly think those will be out by 2009 or 2010? No games are going to even BEGIN development for those systems for YEARS.

Well seeing as both Reggie and Phil Harrison have publicly stated that the next Nintendo and Sony consoles are already well into development and are currently in discussions with dev's about how games will be developed for them, Im pretty sure quite a few games are in pre-production for those system, actually.

And if they dont even plan to have a full team working on Deus Ex 3 before 2009, that could mean the game might not come out until 2010 or 2011, and its perfectly plausible that the next Playstation and Xbox could be out by 2011.

Just because a company is "well into development" for their next console does not mean it's going to be coming out any time soon. And any time you say you're "pretty sure" about anything, I usually zone out for a sentence or two because it's utter *******.

And where the hell did they say they won't have a full team working on Deus Ex 3 until 2009? It's passed the proof of concept stage, and they're bringing in more people to push it to the next step. Everything I've read says it's pushing for a mid-2009 release. I'm not sure where you're getting that a game beginning development in 2007 will be released in 2011. Sure, it's happened, but it's very rare. I don't think Eidos would allow that long of a development time.

"100 new staff by the end of 2007 and fill another 250 positions by 2009."

They wont have a full team before 2009.

Im not saying that it will be 100% be on the next round of consoles, was just floating the idea. When he says it will not be on the last generation or current generation of consoles, I think my statement at least has some weight behind it, but as usual, you just come out and flame every one of my posts like its the most retarted and impossible thing you have ever heard. And if you truly believe that the higher-ups at EA and Activision are not currently in talks with Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft about the next round of consoles, then you would be sadly mistaken. They would definetely have a few ideas floating around their studios right now that they just wont be discussing with the public.

Mipac you're wrong, get over it. They're not developing for the PS4 or whatever else, that's just retarded. They want money, and they want money now.
