I would like to thank El Guillermo for buying me DX:IW.
One can say a lot about the drugs he sells, but at least the money goes to good use. ;)

I kept expecting Solid Snake to show up.

Pretty good trailer.

New website found advertising augmentations for Deus Ex 3
http://www.sarifindustries.com/en/

EDIT . . . There's a secret page that will unlock if you view certain items that will take you to a hacking minigame. If you beat it, it'll give you access to download "classified" documents that show the arm blade prothesis

Im pretty excited for it. At first I was all "it will suck like IW" because I'm a cynical arse, and the main character looks douchey. But the more I see of it the more interested I am, and I have a good feeling about this one.

I doubt it will hit the highs of the original Deus Ex, but Im confident this will be far superior to Invisible War.

Looks good, or as good as a game can from a CGI trailer. Only played the IW demo but loved the first DX. They could've picked a more realistic year to set it in though, 2027 is far too soon.

It's a prequel to the original Deus Ex, so they couldn't put it too far into the future.

A lot of people seem to have rose-tinted visions of Deus Ex. It was an amazing game but even by 2000 standards the AI was really really bad, the combat was crap and the "choices affecting future dialogue" gimmick dies out when missions become linear stealth sections during latter parts of the game, mainly after leaving Paris. Even if this game is disappointing it'll probably have better gameplay than the first and second games.
Invisible War isn't as bad as people make it out to be, the gameplay was pure crap but the choices/things you did seemed to affect dialogue more than in the first game. Plus, it's the only game I've played where you can enter a high school and kill every single child there as some policewoman shouts at you in horror.

So that was, what, like 5% new footage?

Regardless, I'm excited for it. One of the few games I am excited for.

more like 15%

if the cgi cutscenes represent the game at all, I have high hopes it'll be like the original Deus Ex

I'm pretty excited about it. I just try to avoid the media/advertising hype that leads up to a games release nowadays.

I don't know about that. No matter what happened these people were always eager to have you do their bidding no matter how you screwed them over last time.
