I didn't mind the repetition at all. I did, however, mind the godawful graphics.

I liked the graphics. Except the texture pop-in on PS3. Oh god, the texture pop-in.

It uses a limited color palette to simulate a hazy, dream-like environment.

Beat it yesterday. Took 9 hours. Game was Perfect like Vanquish and Hotel Dusk.
Act 4 owned. Those gimmicks stages were surprisingly good.
Bad things:
- You can't skip cutscenes. Not even on replays. What?
- That Justine boss at the end of Act 4 takes too many hits to kill. I was worried the game was glitched or I had to do something else.
- My biggest issue: There's no incentives to replay it at all, you unlock a new difficulty after beating it once and that's it. Vanquish at least was a score based game and it also had those 5-6 challenge levels. This has nothing. There's no New Game +, no Arena/Horde mode, no unlockable costumes, no unlockable weapons. It's like Dead to Rights Retribution in that once you beat the game once that's about it unless you want to replay it for the sake of replaying it.
That's about it, really.
I'll be replaying it once I'm done with Red Faction Armageddon, which is never ending.

Agreed on all fronts. The lack of any post-game content is particularly disappointing considering the parrells between this and Resident Evil 4. They could have just cheaped out and included a cheat menu of stupid stuff to unlock and it would at least give reason to keep playing and get everything. I figure New Game Plus isn't there because on easier difficulties you can max out everything with red gems, so they didn't want to break that.
I loved Act 4 but felt the 2D sections were a little overused. They should have kept it to two runs instead of three and yeah, they needed to communicate damage to the end boss better as I too wasn't sure if I was actually doing anything.
Otherwise the game is amazing.
