I wasn't too exited about this game after playing the flash version, but the commercial version is truly worthy of the "super" epithet.

I was going to write a long, rambling, thinkpiece about the correlation between the emergence of wireless controllers and the decline of controller throwingly balls to the walls hard games, but I was too busy having fun with this game.

With over 300 levels and a whole bunch of different characters that basically change the entire pixel-perfect gameplay, there's a lot to do here. But you'll mostly get ground up into fine red mist about devilishly placed sawblades and other hazards while jumping pixel-perfectly from walls to walls. Forget about ninjas, Meat (with a capital M) is where it's at!

Of course, with my m4d sk1llz0rz, I completed the whole game with all achievements in about 30 minutes and proceeded to sneer in a smug manner.
Spoiler

I am/was ranked top 1 in the world for some level times at the moment, but since the game's only been out for a few hours, I'll probably get slapped down to the top 1 million soon enough.

As far as I know, RandyGandy, Cake21, Eatchildren and I are playing this on Steam, and I hope a lot more of you got this game. the biggest critique I could give this game is that it's a rather lazy port from the Xbox360 version, a lot of the menu items still have Xbox buttons and there are references to gamertags, also it tends to crash at random times, and you can't exit a level without completing it (a bug I naever actually encountered, but Cake21 told me about it).
Gameplay is spot on, even for the true hardcore PC gamers like me who despise little plastic controllers.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanyways, go buy it, it's on steam, or get it for your little baby toy Microsoft console, a soulless machine.
Discuss the game!

wolfenstein is better

I'm slightly interested in this game because of all the unlockable character skins it has (especially the headcrab) seem fun to play around with for a while. But I can't justify wasting u$15 on something I'll just play for half an hour then never again. These Bragging Rights: The Video Game games bore me unless they're shooters.

Also, the Xbox 360 version is superior, the skins it gets are better and it'll also be getting extra official levels plus Developer's Choice custom made levels from the PC version.

I was going to reply and try to defend the PC version of this game, but my argument was pretty weak so I just deleted it.

What doesn't make sense though, is that you'll buy horsez for people (which is $10) but can't justify playing a game for yourself that's the same price

I can't be assed to waste money on a game whose genre I stopped enjoying nearly ten years ago.

I had to check a walkthrough because I had no idea what to do on the first area, then I flew into the sky and something horrible happened and the ocean is now a terrible place.

This sounds kinda like that flash game N (I think they made a console version N+ or something): Check N here

Am I completely wrong? As an aside N is pretty awesome but I'm pretty much stuck on a couple of the levels and cant proceed any further :whack:

Its kinda like N, in the sense that its all about pure platforming. But the goal is different. In Super Meat Boy you simply have to get end, not neccessarily collect anything.

N or N+ are a lot slower.
I must say i found N+ harder than Super Meat Boy though.

I loooooooooved N back in the day. I have N+ on the DS, but the latter left me nonplussed (warning: this is the best pun you'll read in the next 24 hours, sorry for ruining your day).

Super Meat boy is quite similar in its platforming feeling, especially the wall-jumping, but does it better (a thing I barely thought possible).
Really, the flash version of Meat boy is incredibly lower quality, even leaving the graphics and level design out of it, the pure gameplay mechanics are just more accurate and entertaining.

I'm surprisingly good at this game, as I've never really been a great platform player, but I'm just ripping though the dark world A+. Then again, I'm still working on the 2 first worlds. :whack:
One part that is absolutely whopping my butt, though, is the corrupted retro zone in the 1st world.
