If that's the main point you are going for than it's clear the ending is going to feel half-assed.

I can't help but feel that the ending is beyond simple explanation and clarification, but it apparently takes some of your choices throughout the game into consideration.

Why would they do that? It's not like they've promising for years that your choices throughout the three games would heavily influence the outcome of ME3.

Not a bad idea. Although, I didn't think the ending was that bad. Well, it wasn't bad enough to make me RAGE QUIT.
