After reading the "final Hours" there was mention of a blob experiment at valve that had a t-1000 like character created in the source engine. Now before Episode 2's release there were tech demos released by valve to select people.
One was a particle tech demo for multi-core computers

Another featured particles from HL2 Episode 2. In this tech demo there was a blob character that could be created with a console command. Does anyone have a link to this tech demo or at very least a video of the blob character?

Well, the rain and fog is now in L4D2, but I haven't seen anything regarding the other ones

EDIT . . . I take that back, the sphere that shows up at 1:50 was the citadel core in EP1

Look's like they were also testing the confetti particles for Portal 2

I think this demo has been shown before but it had loads of those little hl1 creatures (can't remember the name) crawling around showing off the ai been handled for tons of them. So wish I could play the demo to see how it would run on my computer.
